Anticipate their needs and communicate status/gaps/next steps effectively. Their time is valuable, so the less you use of it, and the more you can take off their plate, the better.

Make yourself indispensable to your manager and make them shine through your work. When their analysis looks good to the client because of your work and he or she knows it... you're managing up.

Hmm I think it's more about like soft skills. How well do you network? Do you converse with your uppers or are you just churning out work. Stuff like that.

@PwC, Where do I start? First you got to let your manager slave drive you for years while you play lackey. Then when ur manager you got to schmooze w directors/partners and essentially sell you soul.

I’m a mentor for a summer associate who I believe could be a great lawyer here (V100, small market if that matters). However, it is apparent he has no understanding of technology (redlines, word, excel). Based on his background, I believe it’s due to a lack of access. Would you ever recommend to your firm that he be given a course to catch up? Should I try and get him training on my own? Stay out of it? I dont want to overstep but believe this would help him as this puts him way behind his peers

I'm wondering if anyone has come across a good way/process to connect with someone about a delicate (but not serious) issue virtually. In the past I would have asked someone to swing by my office sometime that day, then have a casual two minute conversation. Now I'm not sure how to keep it light and personal while still addressing the problem.

I have a friend who has a fully remote job but will go to her office every 2 months or so when they do a team office day/happy hour w e. Every night before she goes she will be SOOO stressed about a) if she will be the hottest one there b) how hard it is to be the hottest one at work because then people think you're just hot and not actually smart and c) nvm she went and she is DEFINITELY the HOTTEST one in the office everyone is JEALOUS of her

What is a common salary for experienced associates in PWC Advisory practice? 2 years of experience. Role would be same as current role in current firm but expanding on responsibility, work load, etc.

How do you stop feeling like a total idiot after making a mistake? I’m a corporate junior and I screwed up a signature page today for a closing and it’s such a dumb error that I know shouldn’t happen. I feel like this team won’t want to work with me again even though I did a pretty good job everywhere else and I’m responsive and available. I hate this error because it just looks careless and lazy. I really liked working with this team and have been beating myself up about it all day.

What happens to stock prices when companies’ net income goes down because they start incurring significant T&E, office expense and occupancy costs again? Is this built into expectations and current stock prices?
The Company I work for saw a $25M reduction in such expenses in 2020 compared to 2019 with no such reduction to revenue. Our net income will decrease when everything opens up again.
