What's the best way to prepare for an international post in consulting (Big4)? Apply to the office directly? Network? Transfer?

Offer included temporary housing and moving expense reimbursement…it’s been a month since I began working and 2 months since I started moving but still no reimbursement…should I escalate this? How long is too long?

Is it frowned upon by tech companies to ask about sign on bonus? I’m not in tech but the recruiter seemed really pissed off and offended that I asked about sign on bonus, and told me I should not bring it up during the recruiter call. Words, “I’m sure you are a nice person, but it doesn’t look good if you ask about sign on bonus during the recruiter call” I didn’t know there was an underlying rule like that, I really didn’t know its offending if I ask about sign on bonus.

Non compete clause - Anyone have an idea how often the non compete clause is practised in real for UK? I am surprised there is a 6 month non compete clause if I leave the company

Have an MBA in finance and IT and have been working in Consulting Risk Assurance for 4 years now doing end to end quantitative and qualitative analysis for the big banks and also audit support. Seeing all the techies make big bucks, i’m considering to move to a big tech company. Not sure which roles would be a good fit to make a switch.

Completed final round of interviews. Awaiting decision but recruiter has asked for 2-3 references and at least one from current employer. I can get one from a former client and one from a peer at D. Is that ok? Or should I tell them I can provide current employer reference if they extend the offer?
