So here’s my question (I’m a first year BTA): I tend to agree to help the client to do stuff without checking with my manager, I’m eager to help and contribute bonding the relationship with the client. And I seem to get blamed for working more because they keep saying it’s “not in scope”. I don’t understand that if nothing is in scope, then why am I here?????
Just got denied for a different position under same client. I'm devastated. No one wants me.
"Here's this thing. Client wanted it yesterday. It's needs to be done. Happy thanksgiving I'm out all next week" 😑😡🖕

Here’s what agencies need to do: only hire serious talent, not put 15 teams on each project, let the 1-2 teams who works on it see it through and have responsibility for making it happen...

If you just joined a project and are in the process of getting rolled off would you still attend all the daily meetings (5-6 different ones) knowing that you’re not adding any value and you won’t be on the project any longer?
What web meeting platform are you using for client meetings? I’m currently using GoTo, but considering switching over to Zoom. (Got rid of Fuze years ago, it was crap)
I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this. Does anyone who switched from consulting to product management have any recommendations of h helpful PM books, courses, or programs?

Does anyone have any insight as to when things are going to go “back to normal” in California in terms of needing to appear in person for smaller status conferences, hearings, depositions, etc. instead of doing it via zoom? I am permanently remote but a lot of my cases are in courts that are a good 1.5-2 hour drive from me and I’m starting to feel anxious about when I’ll have to start going in person for these types of things because of the distance.
