A bonus, a boozy extended lunch and some extra time off. But it was a small shop and his name was on the door. At a holding company? Pretty shit gifts: - A half drunken bottle of wine - A mini mag lite - A palm pilot - Extra work during the break - A gift to the Human Fund

That wine is offensive. I love that extended lunch idea though.

Y’all get gifts from your bosses? I’m just happy if mine acknowledges me.

Oh no!!!

My boss said, “you can have off this holiday.” It was a Christmas miracle!

Besides more money?

Yes lol I don’t control the salary. I could give gift cards but that seems lame

A gift? From a ‘boss’?

During this time off I had minor success running a small business, but not enough to pay the bills. I have 3 YOE, 1.5 as a Loan Officer, and 1.5 as a consultant within compliance and Fintech. Please let me know of any fully remote positions, or hybrid positions based out of Chicago or Milwaukee. I live in Dubuque IA, so for in office work it would have to be in Dubuque. TIA!

Anyone have success renting a one-way car rental for the upcoming weeks? All major car rental companies are showing as sold out no matter which location I select- which I find strange. I tried post holiday dates just to see but no results still. I’m not trying to go cross country, just NE to SE.

Denver Fishes - I need some serious help. I got an email from my future employer, Accenture, to get my i9 authorization done while I am here on vacation. The issue is that they need someone to be an authorizing agent, a physically present adult who can verify that I have the documents(passport card). This needs tp be done in the next two days. I don’t know too many folks here. By any chance could someone help me out with this? I can send you the info and coffee/lunch is on me.

I am on a 4 week vacation overseas to get married and just accepted an offer at a small city based consulting firm. I have 3 weeks left of my vacation. I'm leaving on good terms, just exhausted of the work and looking to diversify my experience.

From talking to students at multiple M7 schools, it seems like all of the BB/MBB/FAANG companies recruit at most if not all of the schools . So if you're planning on recruiting for one of these, is there really a major difference in career opportunities between each school? Asking because it seems like some schools are specifically known for finance vs consulting vs tech, but if the companies are all recruiting at all these schools, the differences don't seem as pronounced to me.

How important is it to workout with a trainer if you have weak joints/cant do a high impact exercise. I did nothing for a yr - now my knees hurt, my butt burns while sitting, my ankles crack, the list goes on... I tried physical therapy but the 4 sessions I went to - I mean not worth the $100+ that I had to pay (post insurance). At this point, I'm wondering if it makes sense to get a personal trainer and to ease the transition back to a somewhat consistent workout schedule. Fully vaxxed btw...
