Was looking to apply to Cap One in McLean as either senior associate or senior business analyst. Wanted to see insights into pay and culture at Cap one. Currently C with 2+ years experience
Not traveling to my client site for the next two weeks. Feels like I'm about to be on vacation lol
What are the possible exit opps from a non-techie at usdc? Is transition to core after a year realistic?
If you get laid off, what’s the protocol on giving back your laptop?. Do you give it back right away? Are you allowed to go to the office and get your stuff in your desk?
Who out there is doing well with their digital marketing? What are some lessons you've learned and effective strategies/things to avoid?
Was told I had to leave a Marriott hotel last night mid stay due to a fire alarm compliance issue. They credited 6k points and gave me a room at a nearby Marriott property for the night. Con’t...
Does anyone have any intel on Capital One? What’s the hiring process like? And how should one prep for the case interview?
I’ve seen a couple posts lately with comments saying that people should not use a Roth 401k. Does the logic below capture the spirit of that concept? 1. Use trad. 401k to reduce taxable income now. Convert to trad. IRA once retired, then convert gradually to Roth IRA (ladder, SEPP, etc.) at lowest marginal tax rate 2. Use Roth IRA (and/or backdoor Roth) to take advantage of tax free growth and ability to withdraw principal early without penalty
I recently changed my employer with decent salary increment and a title bump(Manager). Unfortunately I am stuck with Manager who is really rude, micromanages and when asked for help shows authority. Every day since i joined has been miserable and I just don't feel motivated to work. Also work life balance has been sketchy. Changing jobs is really challenging due to immigration restrictions and bad economy. Any help fishes? How should I deal with this?
Has anybody worked on a PS project where you are fully aware that the taxpayers are being overcharged by 3X?
Are people still applying after only 2 years in consulting? Seems common for MBB but I wonder how you built solid recommendations / experience in so little time post-undergrad.
I feel bad admitting this because of the state of the world, but I had a great summer. After years of working in toxic environments with terrible people, getting laid off and having time to myself again was amazing. I finished personal projects. I got sleep. I read doorstop books that needed more attention than subway reading. And now freelance work is picking up (and I don’t hate it.) I even got Covid but only had mild symptoms. Banner summer for sure.
