Seems almost everyone hates m&a. I left lit to do m&a and now want to go back to lit or do literally almost anything else even waiting tables

I literally have no idea but I recently had a really good junior swirch because she hated m&a and is much happier lol

Reviewing subscription agreements and getting back to investors on things that may be missing. Also drafting side letters to reflect negotiations and precedent and coordinate on everything that needs to happen to make the closing happen including coordinating with specialists

like

Less intense. But more clients at same time at less intensity. So requires being organized and pushing everything forward at good pace

likehelpful

Review subscription documents, draft side letters, dupe out parallel fund agreements, and ancillaries. Normally private funds only have three types of main doc: Limited Partnership Agreement, Private Placement Memorandum and Subscription Documents. The complexity depends on how many parallel funds / side car you have and the size of the funds.
I think the work flow is steady but it’s constant. You get busy weeks of 60-70 hours and less busy ones like 30-40. Not like MA that you get 80+ hour weeks and then under 20 hour weeks.

Junior funds work is pretty damn mindless paper pushing, it does get better as a mid level when you can start delegating some stuff but I really didn’t like being a IM junior

like

I lasted 6 months in funds before switching to lit. Most mindless work.

This is in regards with my resignation. I have resigned on 22nd March (LWD : 22 June ) on medical grounds. Since then, my hr has asked for my prescriptions and medical certificates to give me an early release.

But yesterday, She is stating that my lwd is revised to 18th April with a clause that since my release is on medical grounds I can't join any other orgs before 22june. If joined, there will be problem in background verification.

My parent ended up in Lenox Hill emergency room and then admitted. We need a surgery for broken leg. The service at Lenox Hill hospital is not good. I requested hospital transfer but Lenox Hill refused to transfer my parent to NYP/Cornell. They said they can discharge us to rehab or home (home is apparently against medical advice now). How can I leave this place and go to NYP/Cornell? Ask for discharge and transportation home and then from there call 911 and ask to be taken to NYP/Cornell?🙏🏻

I know anything is possible but I’m pretty anxious.

My firm’s IT (especially system saving and file locating function) is so bad 😐😞 and they keep doing updates no one asked them for just to mess with the stuff we already got a hang of without doing anything about the issues we actually need fixed. Anyone else in a similar boat? Do you bill the client for the time it takes to fix the IT issue (or IT inefficiency generally, like time taken to find a file in a convoluted system)? Or is that supposed to be our non-billable time?

If you don’t have 8 hours of billable time a day, do you leave as is or do you fill in the gap with non-billable work? While I am in the office, I don’t always get the billable amount since I don’t have enough work. Seems like a waste of time to enter non-billable time just to fill in the gap but I also don’t want them to think I am not there and slacking off.
