Usually, Sales Engineers are the technical brains in the field. They're the AEs counterpart who really understand how the product works and they do Discovery Calls, demos and Proofs-of-Concept. SDRs set appointments.
Well, SDRs manage customer relationship. Sales engineers concentrate more on the technical side. If you are an introvert and loves to hover over your seat, then be a sales engineer.
