A clerk is literally opening invoices and typing them in
Why would you want the word clerk in your job title...
Why would you go to public to be an ap clerk?
I mean would depend on company and what job description says but I would say ar or so clerk is just processing transactions - very routine monotonous work. Senior accountant likely involved in month end process ie reconciliations etc
Because screw It lol
My title is staff accountant in my industry job. The clerks do more of the routine JEs and I create the reports the company needs. Staff Accountant here is almost like a manager role. I report to the assistant controller and controller, more like at mgr and partners. That is how I would describe it. Not perfect, but that’s how it seems here
Sorry, assistant controller and controller are more like the senior** manager and partner
