Does anyone do real estate on the side? Is this something I can feasibly do part time? How much do you earn?

I’ve been listening to “millionaires unveiled” (highly recommend for FIRE content) and it seems like every other guest ends up doing real estate investing. If you do it, what books or online courses would you recommend to get started? If you have experience in real estate investing, would you ultimately recommend it?

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.

Is it possible to live off 12k/year?

Can anyone advise - if I did not file taxes for 2019 and 2020 is there a way I can file without receiving a penalty? I just didn’t file them no great reason. Nothing complicated and I probably owe a few hundred each year in fed taxes. Nothing crazy.

Recently joined a company that's likely to IPO in the first half of 2021 and a chunk of my equity vests in the fall. Anything I can do to limit my tax liability, specifically relating to vesting equity?

My understanding is that I owe taxes as soon as it vests (assuming liquidation), either by taking it out of my shares or paying when I file.

If you have to pay back a sign on bonus do you get back the withholding on it when you file your tax returns? For instance if the sign on bonus is 10k, there si withholding on that. So you actually receive 6k (assumption). But if you leave the company you pay back 10k no? How do you get the 4k back?

I have about $45k cash on hand. Job looks pretty safe but I want a fall back in the event of job loss and / or recession. I have student loans of about that same amount on pause but at an 8% interest rate once they start up again.
What should I be doing with it?

I quit my previous job approximately 5-6 months ago due to toxic culture and being pressured to commit fraud… I fear hiring managers see that I’ve been out of work for this time and may assume I was fired or laid off. Accenture company feels to me a narrow minded for employees who are on GCP Program. Everything needs a project. So being in GCP, Employees wants to pursue more than just delivery role such as Business Development outside of project is not possible. For getting laptop, you need project WBSe. If you don't have project you need to repatriate, isnt this stupid? Also, if you don't have project no one cares about you. MDs just take care of its own project. Once you are out, You are left alone.
