“Revenue” would specifically be partnering with a leader of an external customer team (eg, Sales) to run their Strategy & Ops initiatives (could span projects like revenue forecasting, pipeline analysis, quota setting, headcount planning, sales enablement, etc). I think that other “Non-Revenue” Strategy & Ops roles might be aligned to various depts outside of a “Revenue” function (eg, internal systems & tools, internal process improvement, etc — but not necessarily for an external customer team).
