Does anyone know if the same 401k rules apply at EY as Accenture so they will cap the contributions coming for your check say if you hit the yearly limits in August? So if you hit the 22,500 in 23 there is no way to go over for tax issues. Thinking to frontload next year contributions if market is down. EY

It’s time to be an adult. 7 am is not an unreasonable meeting time.
Take time off during the day. When I join early calls I take time back. Set your boundaries but be flexible where needed.
I flex on meeting times if they’re one-offs with international teams. If a regular occurrence, I ask if we can switch on who had to take the early call / late call. For domestic calls, has to be a good reason to speak to me before 9:30a.
You work at a super exclusive high paying firm.
Did you not think they would expect a lot from you?
Yea I am going to but I’d rather get senior first b/c my offers will be higher plus a title bump. I’m only 23 so I got time. Plus accelerated progression slows down once in industry, I’m tryna squeeze as much as I can before I leave the firm.

I start work at 6AM. You’re USI colleagues are accommodating you by staying late to work with you.
M, that's not been my experience working with USI teams on the projects ive been on at least. Their working hours have been somewhere in the range of 12pm-9pm IST
Lot of weird responses here. No, for an internal meeting, 7am is too early. Just say no
@pwc1 there’s absolutely “company time” and there are expectations for when you are available. We make exceptions for clients. It’s just ridiculous to think those exceptions apply to internal teams. If you disappeared they would replace you in a minute no questions ask. Work to live, don’t live to work. I hope OP sets a boundary as he should
Every other week I have a meeting near one of our offices until 11pm. Then leave for our other office (4 hour drive) at 3am for a 7am meeting. I’m a consultant, I do anything for a check.

Unless it’s an executive level meeting (project managers are NOT executives), then I do not attend 7 AM meetings (assuming Eastern Time).
Wonder what would happen if you have children and need to take them to school between 7:00-8:30? Wonder if you don’t have children and chose to go out the night before and you want to sleep till 8:30? I work my ass off but some of these comments are ridiculous and we wonder why this industry is so toxic and bad for our mental and physical health. 7:00 meeting no matter where you live should never be ok. Unless you can manage your personal live with that schedule and log off by 3-4pm. My two cents.
8:30AM and even then I tell them no
West coast working east coast hours and I have daily stand up that starts at 5:30 am. But 7 am is absurd.
Wow lotsa hardos ragging on someone for wanting to live life as he or she sees fit. Congratulations on your deep love for your job. Some other people like to prioritize other things cause your job doesn’t love you as much as you love it. If you’ve tricked yourself into believing that there’s no better thing you could be doing, then im very sad for you
7:00am? Holy lord, the gall of some people.,. Next thing you know you’ll have to work past 6:00pm.
My daily standup is 6:30am with USI colleagues. I’m done with my work day by 3pm.
Imagine being on the USI team having to take 8pm meetings to accommodate those onshore.
Maybe. Yes I agree. But again US is not a client to USI. That I'm quite certain of. Anyway, doesn't matter much as we all get paid peanuts for what Deloitte charges its clients. :)
7 am is too dang early. I would push back *and have done so*
Now, I’m not on the west coast so things may be different out there
Are you in same time zone as your lead ? Have you asked them if you’re needed on the meeting every day?

If all you have to do is listen, why can’t they record the meetings so you can listen later?

Currently on a call with USI right now and start my next day in 9 hours 🙂
I’m on west coast. I have mtgs starting at 5am at least 3x daily
Wow 3 meetings per day at 5am, A1 is really impressive
7am is pretty regular for me; and then usually wrapping up around 10pm. Most of Monday - Thursday schedule if I am not between cases
Sounds like we are built different then mate. My attitude would shift if I got paid more.
what’s USI?
Thanks
