What’s the earliest you’ve received a raise since joining a company and how did you do it? Joined a tech company in Nov and they do annual raises/refreshes in June so I’d really like to get some - any tips on how to make a strong case would be helpful!

Depends on how big the company is/how long the ramp up period is/how much value you bring. I joined a fairly new team(ie small ramp up time) at a startup and got a raise/new title in 13 months. However the specific team was bleeding people, I had muscled my way to be a key member of pretty much all projects in the team, and the previous senior employee had just screwed up a major project so ymmv

ACN1 - that’s good advice thanks!

In my experience, raises would be pro-rated based on the shorter time-frame with the company.

I’ve never gotten a raise after under a year of being at a company.

I received a 22% raise within 9 months, but that’s probably not the standard.

Plus you can make a case for inflation, if anything!!

Following out of interest

Took me two years. Got a promotion, finally.

I've always had to wait at least one calendar year.

Not throwing shade here but this constant stream of "raise" questions makes me wonder if a lot of people feel uncomfortable asking their teammates or literally work in an empty office by themselves

Best way to find out if ur for promotion? I could ask but when I do the manager/cc is a bit vague.
