How does the consulting practice at the mid-tier accounting firms like Grant Thornton and BDO compare to the Big 4 in terms of type of projects, size of teams / staffing, travel, types of clients, hours and compensation? Anyone work at both mid-tier and Big 4 can share some experiences?

Contemplating an offer at D. I understand what current base is; but if you’re good (maybe not great but definitely above most), how are annual raises? Especially at M or SM levels. Are bonuses tiered?

Total coming upto 4 years experience. To clarify, out of university I wanted to get into finance but didn’t get to where I wanted right away so became an analyst, then worked for Amazon as a manager and am now at a BB in Data Analytics. Or which companies in the EU have great benefits and realize they need to have competitive comp and benefit packages for talent? I just moved to one of our EU offices after 12 years with the US firm and I’m so disappointed with what’s available locally. It doesn’t even feel like PwC anymore.
