What's the fastest realistically one could prepare for and pass all four sections of the CPA if studying full time? I'm thinking about taking a leave to get it done without killing myself.

I took 2 months leave knocked down FAR&AUD and had 10 days leftover started studying REG, went back to work and took it a month after. Then BEC took me another month while working.

You can do this! Take more time off if you think your educational background didn't prepare you well for Financial reporting.

I’ve heard of someone at GT passed all 4 in one quarter. I think it really all depends on the individual.

like

I agree ☝️ you can do it in 3 months if studying full time. But if I am taking time off would go with 4 months to make sure I pass before coming back to work.

like

@EY1 School was a few years ago, so I feel like I'm starting from zero. Up for manager this year and want to make sure I pass all 4 parts in time. FAR and REG will be hardest for me, so I'll likely tackle them first, then AUD, then BEC. I feel like BEC would be easiest to tackle while working if I don't get all four done during leave.

like

My current calendar is 7 months and I’m working FT

I think the best pattern is BEC, REG, FAR, and AUD. No matter which way you look at the time available for studying, it’s important to make sure the way you study is qualitative.

Earlier this year, I decided to step down into a part time role at work and have learned that taking intense notes (pen and paper) is the most effective method for retention. Good luck on your path.

Before taking a large pivot and leaving the law entirety, I've thought about going in-house.

(2) Would it make it more difficult to go back to private practice if I don't like that experience?

My organisation has a ‘minimum suggested time in role’, therefore any lateral moves (i.e. move to a different team/department at the same pay scale) have to be signed off by your manager. Any tips on how to go about having this conversation? I’ll likely be exploring other teams as an option after my probation term ends, as this is my second role in a certain career, I’ve realised it’s not for me and would like to change paths but I really enjoy working for this organisation.

How is it fair that I get 2 weeks extension after losing 3 months while it’s possible for someone to get 9 months?
