I’d recommend going to one of those covid testing vans. Most of the time you’ll find them randomly throughout the city. Also if you’re near Times Square they have a testing site run by NYC Hospitals between 47th and 48th st that offers 1 hr rapid tests!

Had a rapid PCR test done with results in like 15 minutes at a Northwell Health in Williamsburg. Made an appointment, but I was the only person there.

Get the test kit from CVS and test it yourself

The labq vans are super quick (~18 hour turnaround) & free of cost. Otherwise I’ve had great luck with all the health & hospital sites. FWIW I used to test religiously before the vaccine & never had issues with health & hospitals. Then I left the city for most of the year, got vaccinated and I’m back with Labq as my most recent experience

Just found out that my landlord has registered my apartment as rent controlled under a different leaser for the past 3 years I’ve lived there. I’m currently on a covid deal (-%33 of what I was originally paying) and would love to switch to rent stabilized at the same rate. Will I have to go back to the prior rate or keep my current lease? Anyone ever dealt with switching from rent controlled to rent stabilized before?

I get it’s scary times and people are trying to be cautious. But if you are waving at me from a far because I am walking on the same sidewalk as you do, pausing and hiding away if you see me coming, or looking at me like I am a dirtbag, I hope you get the coronavirus for treating others unkindly. We are in this together and I am not trying to get it as much as you are. Rant over. And I didn’t really mean I want you to get it. I am frustrated what seems to be just rude gestures.

How do you deal with family in India believing and spreading every false rumor/forwarded message on WhatsApp?
