What’s the general rule of thumb for Christmas gifts for practice assistants (or is there one)? Only a few months in as an associate and trying to suss this out.

I’d say somewhere in the $100-$250 range. Some say like $100 per years out you are from law school but that seems crazy to me. Go for cash/gift card type stuff not actual gifts.

For secretaries, general $100 per class year. So 5th year associate gives $500. At smaller firms people often go with less than this. For paralegals…. Generally nothing. The firm pays them bonuses. If there is one you really appreciate, you could give something small.

Thanks for the info!

$100 per class year at some K&E offices. So a 5th year will give $500.

Am I being selfish for wanting to ask the host if I can still go to the party if I test negative that day?

Bitcoin has literally changed my life. With the profits I am able to invest in a new business and commercial building by making a significant down payment. While I may have been able to do it prior, I wouldn’t have been able to make other real estate agreements as well and would have been forced to choose. I started becoming a believer back in March and move closer and closer to my dreams. Onwards 🚀

Currently spiraling with panic attacks and constant anxiety. I billed over 300 hours last month, have worked every day for over 3 months, and every time I reach out to staffers I’m overwhelmed, I get a generic “it’s okay, you’ve got this!” I can’t even spend 10 minutes with my two young kids. Entering second year and could probably avoid working with these people once these deals are done. Is there any hope for me? How do I set boundaries? Should I, or can I, escape to in-house at this point?
