What's the general trend after layoffs in Jan - will companies start hiring again later in the year (tech companies)?

My husband has a tendency of always shutting me down in discussions. I don’t know why, but his ingoing position is that I must be clueless regarding whatever topic we are discussing. It’s very annoying because 1) I find it disrespectful 2) I am smart enough to have the same job as him and 3) it means we can never talk about anything- he always turns it into an argumentative way of disproving whatever I say

I have a returning offer from the company I interned at this summer but I have been re-recruiting because I don’t want to go back. The offer expires in 2 days and I don’t know whether to accept or not. Companies seem to still be hiring but I don’t know if I should risk rejecting an offer when I don’t have any other ones on the table. Anyone have any objective advice?

Hi fishes🙂 👋🏻 I got an offer from Larsen & Toubro Infotech today for the position of 365 Functional Consultant.
But the designation offered is 'Senior Engineer - Cloud Services and Software' whereas in PwC my designation: 'Technology Consultant' & designation of offer in hand(IBM) :'Advisory Consultant'.
So will IBM consider my Larsen & Toubro Infotech offer as a counter offer?
My fear is whether they will say 'you r offered a different role hence we cant consider'.Will it matter that much?

2.5 YOE, 6.2 LPA Mainframe, recently got an offer from TCS for Mainframe Developer position with 7.5Lpa. My project Director called me and willing to match the salary here in Cognizant. He said i will be eligible for yearly hike as well.

The same usual bonus for EY India folks. Doesn't at all add up to the chest thumping we do as a practice during the town halls.

Resigning from my firm end of next week and supposed to start the following Monday at a new role (2 weeks from yesterday). I am in the final round of my dream role and sounds like they are going to make an offer. Should I renege on my currently signed offer before my background check clears at the dream role? I don’t want to start at new place and then quit 1 week in. Do I tell dream role I have already put in my 2 weeks notice at my current firm when negotiating start dates?

Left MBB 2 years post Mba to pursue equivalent pay and amazing wlb in a “big old tech” strategy team (think IBM, Dell, HP). I thought boring work would be fine in the context but after 1 year it’s getting to me. How would you think about exit timing to avoid “leaving too fast” but also avoiding becoming branded as an old tech guy? Does the old tech experience look bad for FAANG-like prospects?
