1. “Lifer” agencies. You know, the ones in remote locales away from the diversity of big cities. Family vibes leads to looking for “culture fits” in interviews. (Martin Agency, GSD&M, Richards Group, CP+B Boulder...) W+K Portland is the exception, because it made conscious effort to recruit and retain POCs to PDX from the jump.
2. Small agencies. Founded by 4 white guys. Recruit their friends. Not big enough to be under scrutiny of holding company quotas
CPB Boulder is the whitest agency in America.
I would love to know which (if any) agencies are diverse! Every agency I’ve ever worked at was hellaaaaa white 🤦🏻♀️
Deutsch. All bros all the time.
diverse = gender & racial diversity
CPB Boulder has always been the epicenter of toxic bro culture in this industry. Pretty sure they invented the current strain we are all suffering through because the people that worked there in the glory days migrated and spread the toxic-bro behavior to the rest of the industry. Like bro-herpes.

Well most agencies are not culturally or racially diverse OR ideologically. It’s weird. Can we have it all?
Jacobson Rost in Chicago/Milwaukee was a nightmare. Conservative ideologies, white male dominated, the two people of color on staff were underpaid and largely ignored. Worst stint ever.
I will second GSD&M. It is extremely white and male here
Diverse in terms of ideology or race?
Tbwa is super white
hopefully. some day.
Heartbeat is the most diverse agency I've ever worked for.
