I am 15+ yrs ep and have got an offer from EPAM.. my current company work in Automation Testing is relaxed but not much growth.. kindly respond below,

1) how is job security with people having more exp 15+
2) how is the nature of work in Automation Testing for an architect level
3) do they provide more opportunities incase we are not able to clear first interview
4) incase there is not much project, will they keep higher exp people in bench or will ask to resign..

I don't understand the point of hiring candidates. Its been more than two months and i am sitting idle. There is no updates from management. I am getting info like i will get half salary this month because of the bench policy. I m confused what to do next

How is bench policy in mphasis. I have heard that if you are more than one month on bench, you will not get salary till you are not assigned with any project. Is it true.

Ideas for things to do while on the bench

So far - Working on an internal project (almost completed), networking inside the firm.

Firm will tolerate being on the bench till January as it's the holidays. Once the internal project wraps up, I'll have nothing major to do.

Any ideas for what else I can do?

The firm asked me and another senior associate to take the first year out to lunch on her first day. Sure no prob. Then they asked me to submit the invoice and they only reimburse for the first year lunch and not mine or the other senior associate. It was $75 between all of us and I only got like $20 back. HELP! I’ve been contacted by a small private security firm who wants me to be their “on call” counsel. They describe it as a lot of contract review, drafting NDAs, etc. but also being there if/when they need to license a vehicle, defend civil suit, etc. It’s overwhelming but sounds like a really great opportunity. I have enough background to be comfortable with contracts and litigation, but don’t want to get myself into a mess. Has anybody else ever had a job like this?

Agency recruiters: do you participate in kick-off meetings with hiring managers?

My company thinks that’s not scalable for us to be in those calls. But I find it hard to speak enthusiastically about a job to candidates I interview when I never got to even hear the founders speaking about it themselves.

I currently work as an APM at a FAANG company but recently received an offer to join an MBB. I’m very excited about the role but didn’t realize I’d need to take a pay cut when I applied (~100k base + ~20k bonus + ~60k equity vs. 90k base + 10-20k bonus). Considering that I currently work 40-60 hours/week, I’ll be making significantly less per hour at the MBB. I’m very interested in the opportunity but also don’t want to make a poor financial decision early in my career. Thank you for your time!

Seems like consulting is very task oriented while industry is more about relationship building. Any ex consultants in industry have trouble with this transition in mindset?

Don’t take it otherwise, just trying to understand when someone at MBB says I work for 60-70hrs. What exactly you deliver ( definitely ppt)? Is the content takes that much time or is it the beautification of it?

Fish - need help here. I used to work in the research team at McK / Bain (let’s assume one) pre-MBA. My experience here at BCG has not been great and I am looking to move to another consulting firm. The challenge is that the practice area I work in is actually stronger at the other MBB ( not the one I worked pre-MBA). How ridiculous would it be to even apply there?
