Unexpectedly on the bench until next week... just booked a last minute ticket to Costa Rica for tomorrow morning! 🙌
Does your firm have any cool bench programs or initiatives to help improve employee experience?
If you were on the bench for a while with nothing on your plate, would you volunteer for an RFP in your practice but in an area you have zero interest in? RFP is for an ERP implementation
As a new joiner to the firm, how many weeks of bench time are considered ok ? And when should I start looking outside ?
Anyone else get depressed when on the bench? 3 months and counting, can't handle it anymore :(

Risk of getting fired as a new experienced hire in HC with solid 3 ratings and tons of impactful PRD, but on the bench for too long?
Enough with the politics and racist shit, lets ask the real questions. What's everyone's bench, dead lift, back squat totals?
What’s the longest amount of time you’ve spent on the bench? And what did you do during the time? First time on the bench after 3 years here
Any Oracle folks from other firms interested in coming to play for Uncle D? I'm looking for people in Financials (EBS/PS/Cloud) and Supply Chain. Crazy strong pipeline, empty bench.
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Ladies, looking for advice on when to tell job that I’m expecting. I am due early November. I’m on the bench, so being considered for multiple rolls. I’d start and then have to go on leave 2-3 months later. Any advice? Are there any specific rules? I was thinking of telling HR 30days out to start leave conversation. TIA!
1st time on the bench in 3 years. Check out demand portal: "wtf is this shit?" No wonder everyone is unstaffed and getting the boot.
Anyone in the SoCal region looking for an Analyst in Accenture ? Please let me know, the bench is extremely boring
What do you do when you're on the bench? Apparently I'm being picked up next week, but my team hasn't sent me any prep materials. I'm helping for 2-3 hrs per day, but the rest of the time......nada.
I wonder if the ATL highway bridge collapse wasn't an accident... if some group wanted to hurt the economy in Atlanta, closing I-85 is a pretty good way to do it
Any pregnant mamas thinking about not returning to the workforce? At least for the first three years?
I’m leaving a Manager role to take a Director one. They are finalizing the formal offer letter now. I want to leave my current team on good terms, not drop the ball on projects I’m leaving. I’d also like (need) at least a week to refresh and reset and get organized before starting the new director role. I’ve been negotiating terms with the new place since September 3. We agreed on compensation yesterday. Is asking for a Nov 1 start date pressing my luck/being a jerk or totally reasonable?
What is the appropriate amount of time to follow up with a company after they've verbally told you they would be giving you an offer? I don't want to look desperate as I know that's not great for salary negotiation but it's been a week and I really want to follow up!
Has anyone jumped from Big 4 Advisory to Tier 1 Consulting firms (e.g. MBB). Was the jump at the same, higher or lower level?
Need some help fishers, technical operations manager, premium support at aws; what is the salary? Tc? Trying to set expectations and not much detail out there. Aws offer moving package? Anyone know what level is it an L6? Amazon
Are other hospitals seeing an increase in injuries related to domestic violence and child abuse? Since the mandated stay at order we are seeing more severe injuries and death related to both.
To all my fellow fish 🐠 trying new things, do not let the pessimists scare you away from reaching your goals...
Does anyone have experience or insight as to how best to navigate receiving a large settlement bonus (not something that happens on a regular basis, and so is not “expected” income) while on fed student loan income based repayment plan? Next year they will bump up my monthly because my tax return reflects a higher income than my actual salary.
How does the new rule impact on amendment? Big 4 has promotion typically every year and which require amendments. Do you think this will effect current H1 holder?
I’ve been in consulting just under a year. I came from a tech company and implement their technology. I hate delivery and it’s showing… I can’t find a role I enjoy. I’ve been on difficult projects which probably doesn’t help, but in general I’m finding I don’t enjoy the deep, in the weeds conversations that being in delivery requires. Should I try to move within my company, go back to tech, or join another consulting firm in a different capacity?
Can you let me know if the salary package of Php 80,000/month for staff 4 at EY is okay?
Ethical question: would you try to negotiate a raise in current job if you know you’re actively looking elsewhere? Context: had an incredibly challenging year with a huge project that completed successfully. Extremely complex tasks and long hours. Got an award for “disruption” but in summary, the role evolved and now I want to ask for market adjustment /as well as merit raise. I also hate what I do at the moment and can’t wait to leave, but might take months. Should I still ask for a raise?
I hate my ex-mentor - just putting that out there. Should’ve been promoted last cycle but he held me back so now gotta suck it up and take on next level role which clearly I was ready for while getting paid $65K less than my colleague
Have you ever seen one of the nicest, most talented, hardest working people get fired for no good reason. Really breaks my heart about how heartless this industry can be ☹️
