After trying to find an in-house job since July, I finally have an offer at a company that I really like. Total comp is around $20-25k off from where I want to be. Equity comp may be the only way to bridge the gap but they said they don’t normally include equity comp at the corporate counsel level, which is odd. I have found that most companies do. Has anyone received equity comp in negotiations where it wasn’t originally on the table?

Mid level Electrical Engineer in the greater Baltimore, MD area making $115k base w/ $20k sign on bonus. No yearly bonus. I started this job in April of this year. 2-3 years experience. When I onboarded they told me to expect promotion to EE III in about a year. I'm getting 12LPA whereas, they are hiring again a consultant with 3 YOE and they are paying them 16LPA. So i have asked my manager on fixing my pay to Market standards.
I can move on to other company easily, but just 9 months with Deloitte India
