You know Germany is EU but Switzerland isn’t… Other than that, I don‘t know the answer to the specific question but you need to factor in a bunch of additional topics that are likely different from where you come from. Assuming you are in the US and move to Germany, taxes and social deductions are much higher (leave you with 55% net of whatever the compensation number states) but also a bunch of benefits are paid for (e.g. healthcare, education, etc.) So of course the one number you are asking for is important but other factors are equally relevant. Switzerland is a bit closer to the US, generally speaking lower taxes but higher cost of living and very expensive to have a family
I understand that Switzerland is not EU. My preference is Munich. I suppose the opportunities may lie in Frankfurt or Zurich and till the time it's a 4 - 5 hr train ride - I'm ok. I have heard that partner pay is lower, I have been hearing $350 to $500 range - which seems too low (coupled with high taxes). I want to get some perspective on this.
I am based in Munich and it’s a great place to live. If you want to chat, feel free to dm me.
