🐠🐠 Wondering how you'd perceive a person in a C-Suite or leadership position: - typically a smooth talker - acts like he was struck by lightning when things don't go his way, though it shouldn't have been a surprise - claims to have low EQ when he causes misunderstandings, yet doesn't take action to resolve it, or get help to raise his EQ - says he doesn't know anything about current events (or ones from a few years ago) or keeps up with news because he only has Netflix, no cable & such
The hustle culture is killing me. Working until midnight everyday with no salary raise this year. Is it time to move? Just heard Deloitte people are getting raise this year.
Has anyone here (especially BCGers) taken a leave of absence in the past? Have you described it in the application as an employment break? If not, how’ve you explained your promotion isn’t on time?
Alright raise your hand if you’ve had sex during calls you should have been paying attention to
What are typical promotion timelines at RSM management consulting? Had a friend get promoted and it seems very fast but curious how much of a stud he is! Thanks!
2nd year staff here about to make senior...I was just offered a job at a company that I’ve been passionate about my whole life. I’d get about a $5k raise along along with a 300 hour per year..cont.
Hi everyone, I would love some help. I am a new analyst at my firm who just had a large discussion on D&I and diverse teams. Meanwhile, I was asked to support an internal initiative as PMO for supply chain. The leader for the content development built a team with literally 9 white males and me, a female, as PMO, of course. Do I raise this and the issues behind them not looking for others in supply chain with the solution leader for supplychain? Or do I just let this one go, I’m just frustrated 😕
Associate1 in MO. With my recent promotion, I went from low70s -> 85k. Quite happy until an Analyst1 showed me his paycheck - 80k + OT. Am I getting screwed with pay?
Masterclass is doing a promotion of 2 memberships for the price of one. Is anyone interested to split the plan?
Incompetent senior is up for promotion this year and is mostly likely gonna get promoted cuz she knows how to kiss asses. A couple people on her projects already quit and no associates want to (con’t)
Hi I am having some trouble on choosing between Deloitte and PwC for a 2022 winter internship. Some pros for Deloitte include being the largest firm, and the promotion to senior being 2 years opposed to 3 at PwC. Additionally, Deloitte offers a pension and has Deloitte university. The pros of PwC include a gym in the office and a younger work force. They also give me much less of a “corporate” feel and seem to offer more flexibility. I’m wondering if anyone could give me any advice on deciding?
Just saw on LinkedIn an exclusive offer at equinox gym for ey employees. Anyone know what the promotion is?
EY M3, presume I’m going to M4. Tier2 city in PI. Strong ratings. Any insight to my raise/bonus if I’m low end of scale ~$145k salary.
Found out that my partner, who is an ACD is making more than I am as a CD. Problem is I can't reveal how I found out to my boss, so I don't know how to bring this up and ask for a raise.
Does anyone know timeframe for when do year end review cycles and promotion discussions start for OTS?
I’m getting average reviews and should be up for promotion this fall. There is also a business need for a manager. How likely is it that my team finds an external candidate and skips over me for promotion?
Has anyone gone on maternity or paternity leave while going up for promotion in the same year that is willing to share story or any impact?
Any thoughts on mid year promotion at PwC.
Anyone else feeling overwhelmed, working 12+ hours a day and still not getting it all done? I also feel so alone working from home, I wish so much that we were in classrooms. Just feeling it, needed to vent.
28M, Just getting into self investing (have ~$32k invested with Wealthfront Roth IRA/Individual Savings, ~$26k in ACN stock, ~$175k in 401k , investment real estate property and 6 months emergency cash in Ally Savings). Have about $20k to invest, thinking about starting with $5k and dumping it into VTI, VOO, and QQQ evenly (~33% in each) thoughts?
I overheard a convo between Associates in IFS (Internal Firm Services) complaining how they don't make as much as client facing staff. Well... What do they expect?
How are people managing WFH with their kids? We have a 2 year old and 5 year old and my partner is also wfh. Small condo, no nanny. It’s freaking insane and my husband and I are fighting every day....
There was this convo where a PML wanted to check with his counselee’s doctor if they are actually sick. I can’t seem to find it anymore. Can someone help me find it? I must read all of it. I can’t go to sleep without it.
Ex-kpmg employee here so can’t post in that bowl but does anyone here know how pension plan works? I was vested based on time with firm but does the money stay there til retirement or can you request lump sum payout and invest it how you want? Thanks!
Any idea on salary range of a Sr. Associate IT Due Diligence at big 4? High COL city no MBA
I’m about to have an interview.. It’s for python and I am not prepared. I have 3 hours, what should I focus on? I know I definitely should have studied more but I have been having really bad nerves and stressing out all day so I would appreciate some positivity and constructive advice!
I see plenty of people go for a walk during the day, yet I hardly see any of my teammates appear “away” for 15/20+ minutes. I recognize that not everyone is in consulting, but can’t imagine that *none* of those walking are. Asking as a relative newcomer to the workforce: Is it acceptable to be away from work for more than just a few minutes, regardless of industry? If so, how can I feel comfortable stepping away to prioritize my health and well-being when so few of my teammates do so?
Anyone made a transition from FAANG to B4 or MBB at PPMD level? I understand that culture and WLB is different... but was the transition hard or easy? I am a senior leader with FAANG and exploring options. My background is in sales, delivery, solutions development etc, MBA and MS. Thank you.
I want to buy a $600 ticket but only have 40,000 Amex points. What’s my best option? Could I use points but have an Amex charge of $200? Not 100% sure how that works or f it messes with expenses
Any firms hiring junior associates in Austin?
Does McKinsey early access actually offer any leg up? Or is it more or less irrelevant for internship placements
I have clients all over the country. None of them have the same rates. What’s a gold standard for a rate sheet? I’ve been in the dark about this for years. My day rate in SF Bay is $1500.
Any males here get an MBA from an M7 university? If so, would you mind sharing your GMAT score? I know it's just one data point in an overall story, but I'm trying to get reference points from peers.
I’m about to turn down a 25% raise from a competing agency because my company just gave me a promotion (7% raise) because I like my leadership team... am I stupid?
