You’re going to be uncomfortable most of the time, stop worrying about the perception of your work, collect your check, and remember that work isn’t life, it supports your life

Isn't the perception of your work one of the most important success factors? I feel like I used to think high-quality delivery (alone) would speak for itself vs. having to advocate/sell your own value.

A very hearty thanks to everyone who attended the live with Eva and I last week. Your questions, ideas, and feedback were so thoughtful. I took notes and looking over them this week reminded me of how much we can lift each other up. By seeing the awesome in others and telling them By sharing our struggles and ask for insight By really listening and responding with care Be sharing our salaries, our contacts, and our lessons Thanks again!

It's finally happened. I can feel that I have given up. The breaking point? My CD making a big deal out of having a call on Saturday at 1 pm to look over a deck that was due this morning. I rearrange my schedule. I move my kids piano lesson. I stay up until 2 the night before making sure everything is in line. He never calls. Doesn't respond to my text. I send him the deck and he doesn't respond until Sunday afternoon. Then gets pissy when I say I can't hop on the phone at that exact moment.

What do you think that the education system needs to do, to get young people to be better prepared with challenges in life? For example, I grew up in Malaysia, national secondary schools had home science lessons, where we learnt from ironing to cooking to carpentry to sewing to plumbing to soldering on a circuit board where we did individually or in teams. To me, these skills altogether prepped me with a lifelong ‘Swiss Army knife’! Anyone with children with ideas?

Got an email “reminder” that weekly lesson plans are due Monday morning. I’m tired. I want to reply “no” because I don’t have time to make detailed lesson plans on their template...for lessons that I won’t follow...for a curriculum they haven’t given me yet....But I should probably just ignore it until I’m less tired so I don’t let my mouth get me in trouble. Do y’all turn in lesson plans?
