What’s the parking situation like in DuPont circle on a Friday night? Could I find street parking somewhere close?

Just pay for a parking garage.

1. Go after 6:30 PM because that’s when all the street parking is allowed once rush-hour is over. 2. Look for parking in front of the embassies as often times off-peak anyone can park there - just read the signs. Mass Avenue heading up north could be a good choice, New Hampshire Ave. is another good choice 3. If you park a little bit south in more of a business office district towards Foggy Bottom or McPherson or Farragut it’s actually pretty quiet in the evenings

Thank you, really appreciate this! If I go around 7:30, do you think I could park somewhere safe and close?

Oh boy good luck…it’s bad. You will probably need to push into Adams Morgan tbh

It’s doable! I was in DuPont last night (Friday) 8pm for dinner, found a spot half a block from the restaurant. Easier if you have a small car and can fit into a smaller spot. I like one-ways with parking on both sides, I find that I get lucky more often than not with that strategy.

Maybe we should implement something like automatic posts refresh? I got a notification about "someone like mypost" but it isn't displaying at the post title...

Changed my company but it didn't update!

Tax season, and I just noticed I have a household income of $700K. Guess how much we've saved? $0!!! $300K goes to tax - thanks to CA $60K goes to housing mortage, HOA, and tax $15K goes to travel & vacation $10K goes to BTS... Where did the rest of money go? NO IDEA... Looks like just dining and grocery stuff. I don't have even have kids, didn't buy any luxury brands last year.

I just started as a consultant fresh out of college and am wondering if it is normal to work 10+ hours day?? Like I know I have to “pay my dues” or whatever but my mental health is suffering. Advice?

Analyst keeps taking time off for dr appointments, sick, etc. Today they were screen sharing and had a bunch of tabs open with titles that were obviously emails regarding interview scheduling, follow ups, and job search websites. Hope all that sickness doesn’t impede their ability to land a new job!

What idea or realization completely changed your thoughts or beliefs on something?

Since being at home, my SO has asked me for help on her work consistently. I spend at least an hour every day helping her with data analysis or just being a sounding board for her to throw ideas of off. She gets irritated when I don’t have the time to help or sit down with her. We are both consultants at different firms and industries. Has anybody else feel like they’re helping their SO do his/her work more often than before? What strategies have helped to manage SO expectations?

What’s in your fridge when traveling every week? Meal ideas would be great.

Of the three MBB houses, what are people’s views of rank in terms of prestige? I would say 1. McKinsey 2. Bain 3. Boston. Interested in opinions.. Also restructuring boutiques. 1. FTI 2.A&M 3.Alix

It still confuses me why people get a Bachelors degree in a language but then complain about not being able to get a job….like….?

What's your level; how did you get there?

Was unexpectedly asked to roll off a project today. It was a bit of a shock because this has never happened in my career before. There were certainly things I could have done better, but I don’t feel I did anything wrong and I feel I did my best to address feedback I did receive. Aside from starting a new project search ASAP and talking to my career counselor to have my side of the story heard....what else can I do in terms of damage control? Panicking now because of all the covid layoffs...
