What's the play on updating LinkedIn when accepting a new job? Keep everything as is until the trial period is over or update right away?

I update at the end of my first day. You earned your space at the table and were on the job.

This is also when i start connecting with people I met on that day and use the messaging function when connecting to give them thanks for being so welcoming and how I am looking forward to working with them.

All experiences good and bad are an opportunity to learn. And connections are invaluable, I have had job opportunities develop from chatting with people in line waiting for coffee.

Being genuine and warm with others goes a long way.

What's a trial period in this context?

It's at will, so I guess this is an extra special time period. 🤷‍♂️

Have an associate 2 years junior to me with whom I work frequently.. they seem to make an intentional point of not responding to my emails (but promptly responds to client, partner, etc), but 75 percent of time will eventually do what I ask. It has become a distraction. Generally I get good upward reviews - I’m respectful of juniors and expect them to have a life, etc. I’m unsure why the passive aggression. Any tips on handling or do I have to just deal with it? I’m worried about a confrontation

Advice Please
It's been 4month with the team with no manager. I recently joined the organization and the team I am part of is headed by a lead and one analyst.
So being a new member as Sr.Data Analyst I sometimes have to report to analyst. Considering the fact that he has been part of the team for past 1 year and sometimes he sounds like lead as he is leading some project.
On other hand my manager is continuously asking me take lead in project and try to reduce dependency on that analyst.

Has anyone ever had to sign a non-compete? The contract I have in an offer has a clause that states I cannot go to a competitor for a 2 year restriction period following my termination of employment. Hello all! (1) What's Google's post-interview process like?

Just finished interviewing with team, was then contacted by the recruiter for a quick-call within an hour after the last interview. I wasn't free so pushed it another day. (2) Is this too fast to get contacted - meaning rejection and feedback? (3) If fortunately not, is pushing for a start-date of 3 months later from offer date (due to personal reasons) a reasonable ask?

Anyone else HATE the word “full stack developer” in a lot of tech/LinkedI blog posts? the ONLy time I personally feel it is applicable is when it is being used to describe a developer in a specified domain— or more appropriately— for a specific company.

Ie: Amazon is ran by Java, SQL, and AWS for the most part right? so a full stack developer at Amazon would be competent in those “tech stacks”. However— when I see the word “full stack developer” used as a job title to describe broad categories

So I’ve been thinking of leaving my company and trying to move to a big tech company, but my manage currently likes me a lot, eg. giving raises and talking about lead promotion, but I’m not really happy with the work and they have reduced some benefits recently (bonus and retirement). Work/life is pretty chill and with raises/promotions upcoming I feel hesitant to leave. Anyone else go through something similar? One of the reasons I’ve hesitated is how much I dislike the tech interviews.
