What's the point of getting a B4 to do your internal audit? My understanding is it's to save time and therefore money for the external audit, but I imagine it's not cheap to have a B4 do it.

Was part of advisory group that did this. A lot are not full outsource and actually co-source where the CAE/VP IA is in-house and everyone below them are outsourced. But it's really talent. B4 can hire cheaper college grads, work them harder and the typical IA travel lifestyle fits better for mostly single ppl in 20s. Experienced IA pros cost more and there's a lower supply of them since it's specialized. They also don't typically tolerate lots of OT like PA does.

like

since they are not company employees, can use them on an as needed basis, no payroll taxes - I'm sure there are more reasons...

like

Outsourcing saves money because u dont pay for benefits otherwise u pay for actual employees. So thats payroll tax, health care, 401k match etc. In addition, u would get the required expertise if u go to a public accounting firm to execute your audit plan.

like

I understand process improvement can be part of IA's function, but I don't know how many companies actually do that with the outsourcing.

Let's say I'm a former analytics specialist who left the field several yrs ago for a top 10 MBA and strategy consulting at big 4. How would I parlay this into finding *non-tech* AI/ML/DS roles like strategy or product?

I don't want to use R/SAS/etc daily again, but many places either want me to be a DS/engineer which doesn't suit my interest, or require more recent technical management experience, which I don't have.

Hey fishes,
Im facing a dilemma. I have two offers in hand:
1. PwC (offshore model) - Risk advisory (IT audit)
2. Goldman Sachs - Internal Audit (Securities Tech).
Both jobs are offering me almost the same overall compensation and benefits. I have around 2.5 years of experience in the field at a B4 firm. Is this a good time to switch to industry?
Please help me choose between the both. TIA.

Hi everyone,

I’m currently looking to build a career within the ESG consulting and strategy space. I am in a career transition phase and have a tax consultancy background from a Big 4 for 5+ years. However, I believe I have gained some skills that are transferable to ace at ESG consulting as well. While I am still in the process of upskilling myself and gaining the required knowledge, could you help me with referring my CV or with some leads?

Does anyone have advice on the hours typically worked at CFGI? I'm currently in a senior manager role with the expectation to be TMD in the next two years - however, given staffing issues and the politics of the firm, I'm looking for a switch.

In addition, as a non-audit accounting firm, do former big 4 employees working at CFGI pick back up their investments and are no longer restricted?

I look forward to any input CFGI employees may have. Thanks!

Round or exact numbers on banners/LPs? I was curious about this since in negotiations for example or pricing it's better to have the exact number. But if you have a case study, for example, is it better to say "Client X increased their revenue to 1,000,000 ARR" instead of "Client X increased their revenue to 987,500 ARR" ? Anyone has seen any impact on conversion rates?
