It's all the same. The name of your company doesn't really matter unless you're already in MBB. Consulting is consulting and MBA recruitment offices know it all depends on your experience. Someone from big 4 has the same chances as someone from a small botique or Accenture/IBM all things equal. The work you did as a consultant matters. Not the firm name.

I left as a senior associate. Joined a boutique as a senior. Went to MBA. The only reason you guys think Deloitte is better in that sense is because of its program to sponsor. It really doesn't matter where you work. My class had consulting, industry, start up folks, etc.

like

They’re basically equal. Deloitte may have an extremely small advantage over the others.

Curious too. I’ve also wondered whether there’s more of a culture applying for MBA at certain big 4s. It seems like Deloitte sends more people but more Deloitters may apply as well.

That's because Deloitte has GSAP; PwC's sponsorship program is not as widely known.

What about Accenture??

Not Big4....

^that’s somewhat true. Big 4/ACN/IBM are powerful names, not in the league of MBB obviously, but they will get you more immediate recognition than a small boutique would.

I worked big 4 out of undergrad then went to a botique then went to top 15 MBA.

SA1 - at what level did you leave b4? Maybe I've been drinking too much kool aid but I'd assume deloitte > Kpmg, EY, Pwc for MBAs. Maybe EY is close by but I thought this was kinda commonly accepted for deloitte to be ahead in the big 4 because of how long they have had their consulting practice, rankings, and actual S&O work compared to the rest. Still leagues behind mbb though.

Hi all! For an experienced hire as a Human Capital Consultant at Deloitte, what should I expect the salary/sign-on bonus to be at a MCOL city? I have approx. 3.5 YOE (non-consulting), MBA and MS degree (non target school) and also SHRM certified (which is probably irrelevant for the role but thought I’d share anyways). Already did my research but the range is kind of all over the place for experienced hires so just want to have a ballpark. Thanks!

1yr of work experience at MBB -- prior experience was in non-profit / community development. What exits could allow me to stay in the private sector that aren't consulting? I think exiting to Tech or a bank is unlikely with no prior experience; I want to eventually return to non profit work, but still want to spend the next few years in the private sector (tbh, just for the experience and so my MBA didn't go to waste). Any ideas?
