What's the right move? Learning and getting used to dealing with stressful activities, or avoiding stressful activities that aren't "required"?

Recently chose the latter and feel much better mentally but can't help to think I'm taking the easy way out.

Depends on why it’s stressful - if you’re, say, training for a marathon your long run weeks will be stressful, but it’s time-limited and (presumably) in service of a healthy goal that you’re excited about. If you’re ruining yourself running 10 miles a day every day just because you “can” do it and therefore feel like you “should,” that’s counterproductive and unnecessary.

Fair. I guess that's just my personality. I hate to be mediocre at something that "matters". Probably an ego thing

I’m interested in this as well and am facing the same situation.

Both. Avoid the stress you can but you will have stress in work, life, etc so have a mechanism to calm the heart rate down, breathe and come out on the positive side.

My husband and I have had problems for years. He used to basically give me next to no affection, our sex life barely existed (incl. his absolute refusal to do foreplay … ever!) and his general dismissal of anything I enjoyed (my hobbies were boring to him). Over the last year I just gave up trying and accepted we may need to divorce. Now he is trying a lot- he puts in a lot of effort. While a few years ago this would have made me happy I feel like it’s too little too late, I just don’t care ..

Cause I live in NYC I walk quite a bit and my lower body is pretty toned but would love to have more definition/strength in my arms, stomach. Thinking of getting a peloton will be pointless for my arms/upper body since that’s what I’d like to focus on. Advice?
