The CEO caught an attitude w/ me bc I didn’t know the answer to his question. He removed me from a public Slack channel. That Friday, my supervisor schedules a meeting and presents a two page performance review. I received mostly 2’s on a scale of 5. I have 2 WEEKS to change it.

I’ve always hear to ALWAYS negotiate your salary. What if they give you the middle of the salary range that you mentioned to the recruiter? Do you still negotiate for more and if so, by how much?

Which one should I go for?

1. Oracle - 18.3 LPA fixed + probable bonus (I may or may not get)
2. Amadeus - 18 fixed + 1.5 variable.

Amadeus is also giving joining bonus of 75k. Amadeus is paying more, may give better hikes too, but I am finding it hard to let go off Oracle's brand name on my resume even if it's means around 2L less over an year. I am planning to work for atleast 3 years in my next company.

What would you have done in my place? Should I go for Oracle or Amadeus? YOE - 4.5

Any bonus structure suggestions that you all deem fair? At my firm we have to bill over a certain amount of hours to get a good bonus. All paralegals have different areas of expertise, years of experience, and some get to work from home while others don’t. I don’t understand why we’re all expected to bill the same amount of hours. Do any of you have those Saturdays where you just lay in bed all day ?

Often in the interview, interviewer asks about how virtual dom works or what is react or where is implementation of setTimeoutEffect(in v6 or ESMAScripts). Or Even in Nodejs interview they ask about event loop or v8 engine r libuv which is not required while programming with nodejs. I was just curios why they ask these, because in actual development I dont think these concepts are much helpful (even if those are the once we build things on), these are only for what is happening in background
