Does this make sense? Got a great 2021 review from supervisor (1 page narrative of my accomplishments), just 1 rec for improvement but minor admin issue. But she rated me AVERAGE on everything. Her explanation: 1) you either do a good job or you don’t 2) I’m not doing better than anyone else on the team. Everyone on my team is amazing, so no matter how hard we all work, we still get rated as average. I feel like this is partly because being rated above average means you can ask for a raise.

I’m a tax senior 1 (will be a senior 2 in October) and just got an offer with a 26% raise at a large public company on their provision team. There’s also an aspect of FP&A and helping with transactions so not strictly tax. All seems super interesting and the team seems great. I really like my EY team and my counselor has talked to me about an early manager promo next year but have never intended to be a PA lifer. Any reason I shouldn’t take it?
