My ‘friendly’ and ‘ally’ colleague with whom I spent my whole days on an 8-month travel project (I mean together for air travel, daily drives, work, lunch, dinner) talking behind my back about how ‘those gays are everywhere now’ and ‘how did we come to this.’
He only knew I was gay because early on he asked me about my wife as he saw my wedding band - and was really surprised to hear that I’m married to a man. He then professed to be an ally.
That really hurts. If you’re looking for a new ally, I’m in.
I joined PwC as an associate (tax), i started off well then suddenly all work started to get dumped on me coz "i can do it" with the constant verbal feedback from my manger that u are doing great others should learn from you. Come year end review the only good review i have is from the other engagement teams. My manager gave me overall 3 rating (Met Expectation). I have since changed my team and told my manager your team didnot meet my expectations.
Working at the office and somebody closed the blinds nearest my workstation. I shall never forgive, nor forget.
A partner asked me to sell him my addy and I refused because y'know illegal. He put me on a PIP, citing lack of "teamwork" and "business acumen". I could get off the PIP if I displayed a "greater entrepreneurial spirit."
I reported a manager (I was staff at the time) for touching me inappropriately (digital assualt) at a happy hour. HR made me take him to coffee and apologize to him for talking about him behind his back.
That same manager told me I was done for the night, so I started getting ready for a date. When he realized I was going on a date, he assigned more work due immediately.
As an intern, the senior manager on the project made me use my per diem to buy alcohol for his wife.
A senior asked for greater responsibility and initiative in a project, so I gave it to her. She emailed it directly to the partner, claiming that I wasn't any help whatsoever and unfit to do my job. When the partner sent it back, very marked up, she claimed that I *had* reviewed it, so I was missing waaay too much stuff and obviously... unfit to do my job.
You gotta love that junior female trying to go over your head and then blame her work on you when you would have just helped her out had she submitted it to you.
So we need you to perform up to your peers and need an improvement. OK. Next project I share feedback I was getting and it was very positive. Oh well I don't know that person they might say that to everyone. Seriously? You asked how I was doing, I give you what they literally wrote about my performance, and you dismiss it because it goes against your narrative? It was then I realized no matter what I did they had their story.
At my prior firm (private equity), I discovered a C-Suite member of a portfolio company wired $100,000 to a friend so it could sit in the friend’s bank account for 90 days while they under review for a mortgage. The funds were wired back after the mortgage was approved. I found out because upon a review of the wire request, the C-Suite member had sent an email following up on if the $100,000 earned any interest in the checking account. Terminated with cause, but we agreed to sign a separation agreement to keep it quiet. When they refused and threatened to sue, we reported to law enforcement for being an accessory to bank fraud, and corporate fraud.
I guess that’s what I get for working in the entertainment and media industry.

Another creative got onto my keynote presentation that was saved on our cloud servers and fucked it up the night before our client presentation. Joke's on him, ya girl saved a copy on her desktop.
This was all because the ECD liked my script more than his and he thought sabotaging the work would help his cause. It didn't.
I've had my colleagues fuck with my idea boards while I was in the bathroom, try to debunk my work to leadership behind my back and openly complain to them that my work is worse than theirs, invite everyone in the department but me to social events.
BTW my department is all male, so probably explains a fair bit re: the above.

I had an ACD and my manger directly lie to my CD about my performance despite my manger always telling me I’m the best etc and the client always being fine with my work with only copy comments.
Noticed a person (won't disclose gender) sneak moisturizer and tissue boxes into their bag at a client location.
I wasn't even thinking in gender terms until you mentioned about it.

A colleague came on to me and reported me for sexual harassment when I turned her down. Cost me that job.

On an engagement with the US team, colleagues at same level acted all friendly and helpful. I was told to raise snapshot to them and I checked with them and they said client is happy and so is they. And ended up giving me very bad snapshot with developmental areas. This brought my rating tier down from 1 to 3. They were up for promotion but surprisingly did not. Karma bites I guess.

Years ago, I (f) had a manipulative manager (m) who would make any excuse to find me alone and ply me with alcohol (example: refusing to review my work during the day but call me at 11:30pm to the hotel bar and tell me this was my one and only chance for review ... would show up to a champagne glass waiting for me) ... afterward we would ride the elevator up together and he would often try to kiss me 🤢 but it was my first project and I didn’t want to lose my job

Name him!
My boss tried playing me against another attorney by straight up lying about what each of us were saying

Can you cut that lawyer from the firm now?
Is snapshot pwc equivalent to review? Do people of same level contribute to your engagement reviews? For us it's MDs and SDs although I'm sure they might ask input
Yes, its a tool where you recieve review/feedback against different parameters.
I was staffed on a project for all of my time at the firm except for a span of a few weeks at the beginning of my job, a manager pulled me off the project to staff someone else to help their utilization — said it wasn’t performance related and also “wasn’t political” — and a week after being on the bench I was laid off.

Had an SM offer to mentor me to lead in a pursuit. I asked one question (had anyone started the pricing) and she said to set up a meeting. I did and she invited the partner and pushed me off the pursuit for not understanding/knowing enough.
My mouth was on the floor the whole time - I just decided f' it. I don't need this sale or to work with this SM. I have a solid relationship with the partner so I should follow up at some point.
Live and learn.
I'm shocked it was a woman.
No I'm not I had a woman sm do something almost identical to me (SC) Intro call with the client. Goes well client asks if I have any questions. What is your timeline for the project, when do you target to wrap up this audit? Sm jumps in and says well talk about this afterwards between us! I get a call from my pep saying the sm filed a complaint that I was asking in appropriate questions to the client.
My smaller firm got bought out by top 15 firm and then demoted me and took all my reviewing privileges away. I was really early in my pregnancy at the time so I didn’t say much to be able to just get through it. I then started struggling because I had revolving morning sickness for 6 months. Well I told everyone I was struggling and that I knew I wasn’t doing a good job. At review time, they used that against me saying I didn’t do a good job and that I even said so. They wouldn’t let me go back to the clients I worked on previously and told me I had to find my own industry clients within the firm. The stress of that and my baby being sick for two months made me quit
A SM took the desk I had reserved for the day and the only other desk was on the other side of the office.
At least you didn't come to your personal desk and find someone else set up there because her manager claimed she talked to you and you wouldn't be at work this week.
My director said I did great this past quarter before performance reviews, I hear from a partner that I’ve been laid off. My director never responded to my questions after that fact

Set me up for getting laid off by pushing crap projects on me so they could eventually replace me with their buddy.

An SM tried to get me to ‘approve’ a marketing app that wasn’t GDPR compliant, so I’d be the one who was on the chopping block, if there were any legal ramifications, and they would look like a hero to the CMO. They refused to put the request in email, and the approval direction was only verbally discussed. #🐍
