That seems reasonable to me. Especially if you are towards the end of your fiscal year and walking away from a bonus. I would want at least that to leave D right now because it’s 2 months until year end/bonus payout.
That’s massive
$200 senior director
A&M, that's not a sign on bonus. Also, your math is confusing.... Missing $25K.
I've heard of $100k for some people but believe that was at an I-bank and the understanding was it would go to pay off their MBA.
At face value, it’s good but not massive. There’s a big difference if it’s for SM or Director title. There’s also a big difference if you’re an SM going for a Director role vs. Director for director. If the latter, it’s low. For a lateral move, it would require more to justify a switch plus signing bonus should take into account the bonus you’ve accrued so far. Good luck.
I got $40k but in corp dev at a private industrials company.
Got $30k sign on at Manager level. $50k sounds about right for SM.
No sign on at M but got 80k retention over 2 years when I started.
Not sure if they're still doing that. It was last year to bring TC into the range I was looking for. It's 40/yr at the end of each of the 1st two years.
I'm operating under the assumption that I'll look at how competitive the TC is at that point vs the likelihood of actually hitting P in a few years and decide from there.
400k IB MD
But what's the point in this? Seems like a humble brag
OP - where are you getting this sign on bonus from? Which firm?
