Sit and do nothing until 6 pm in client office.
Unmuted to laugh awkwardly at client joke before remuting

Guiltyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Stayed at Fairfield inn for $250/night far away when Ritz Carlton in front of client site was available for $150/night.
Cost cutting engagement.
Agree, please note most Hilton brand hotels are within a few dollars of each other, but optics on which one you choose
Well...
We did a project for a dairy cooperative in rural Wisconsin. We were told not to accept any free upgrades from the rental car company, for the sake of optics. “No, I want the crappy car, thanks. Do you have anything with visible rust?"
@bcg4 same for us
Show up in the office when I could definitely be remote
Worn heels
I am 5’2” and often wear flats. Or boots with a chunky heel, which make me taller without any of the downsides of ~heels~
As an analyst on a public sector client I was told not to wear a suit because I was just a ‘numbers guy’: wear a shirt, chinos (slacks) and a jumper and try not to stand out.
I saw another guy suspiciously take his Omega off after 3 hours on client site and never put it back on for the rest of the engagement.
Probably surreptitiously
Wore glasses
Same. Wore my blue light blocking glasses to interviews. No Rx, just makes one look pedantic
Not allowed to use client's gym even though client was fine with it
am I late to the game
Finish my Starbucks coffee before getting to the client office as we couldnt have fancy coffee
This is so Deloitte.
Spend thousands of client dollars every week to fly, lodge, eat, and work in closed-off team room with all non-client colleagues in effort to help said client save money.
Worked at an open floor plan agency in a not very hip city that was pitching a fashionable NY brand. Client scheduled a visit. The agency hired local models to wear black and walk around and pretend to work there - they were given desks and laptops- to make our agency seem more hip and fashionable. They also had some support staff (like accounting and IT) do an offsite team building day - really it was to get the older, fatter, less hipster employees out of the office while the hot shit client visited. We did not win the account.
Sounds like this was planned by an SEC sorority rush chair
When I was with a research firm, sometimes clients would ask for our colleague who was just doing project management work as a way to kill time before retiring come and be in the room for speeches etc. this almost always was requested when a younger woman was leading the engagement and stakeholders wanted “someone with experience” to lend credibility to the work. Real bs
Wow that’s awful
Not sat next to my Partner because we had separately gotten feedback that we always sit next to each other. Like a force field. 😂
For the record no funny business. People love to gossip though. It keeps it interesting. IDK
Worked 60+ hour work weeks for 5Y while in consulting
Client said they hated when consultants received perks during travel. So, I paid a daily rate to park my convertible mustang rental at the hotel next door so he wouldn’t see me leaving the parking garage every day.
Creative solution!!
Come in before the client and leave after the client
Common, not silly. It shows we’re committed to helping them
Wear make up.
