Hiring Manager: “...we’re looking to make a fast decision...” Cut to 4wks later: 7 interviews, presentation round, and now a potential “personality check” with client. FML
Anyone have a Goldman Sachs Marcus high yield savings account referral? I opened one but afterwards realized there are referral bonuses I left on the table. If anyone has a referral, I may be able to finesse applying it retroactively (benefitting both of us). Conversely, if anyone is thinking of opening one, I’m happy to refer you. Feel free to DM! Just wanted to keep the inside baseball for US.
Anyone hiring fresh college grads? I got brother who’s been applying everywhere with no luck. He’s in San Fran
Currently in industry, on the product side with previous consulting background. I don’t like the grind of consulting, but Salesforce CSG (prof services) reached out with a BA role. I’m also in the process of interviewing at FICO as well. I like that the FICO is on the internal product side, but Salesforce has a great reputation. Feeling like I don’t know what I want. For reference, I’m leaving my current place because of terrible leadership & back to office 5x a week/no flexibility. Any advice?
Coming up on a 2nd round interview with a company and I’ve decided I’m not legitimately interested in pursuing the opportunity further at this time. Should I go through with the interview and see if getting an offer changes my mind or simply tel the recruiter this isn’t the right time? Also, what is the best way to say this without closing the door fully for the possible future ?
Starting the interview loop again for a PgM role in UX at Google. I received good feedback the first set of interviews I did for a previous role but I didn’t get to the hiring committee. I would like to increase my chances this time since there are multiple roles open across different teams. I’m really worried about the GCA round since this loop is different and I don’t have experience in UX. Does anyone have any resources that would be useful for me to leverage for this round?
What does IndIvidual Contributor mean in Tech? I’ve been asked that a few times in interviews and still not sure what it means. Does it mean I’ll be in a void with no team just generating content and forcing it on people?
Any recommendations for a good professional case interviewer/coach either through Casecoach or independently? Have an upcoming MBB interview
All, this is my first post and I just want to share that I passed the first Amazon interview for Technical Program Manager and am heading to on-site virtual interviews! I have 20 years of corporate tech in a traditional F500 company (top 50). The only thing I can say that I like about my current job is the work-life balance and some of the people. But the work itself is soul crushing and the industry is stagnant. To those who are 40+ years old, is it crazy to change now?
Is it generally a good or bad idea to let interviewers know you’re interviewing at other companies/ are awaiting an offer at a different firm? When interviewers ask this question, what are they trying to gauge from the interviewee?
Had two interviews, second was late last week before the COVID stuff kicked in. The recruiter who was very responsive has gone silent, ignoring my last two emails. Can't tell if it's me or the virus.
I have an upcoming GPS Human Capital Interview with Deloitte consisting of 3 back to back interviews (behavioral/technical/case). Any advice on the case/technical as it relates to Human Capital would be very helpful! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
Offer $49/hr case and interview coaching (less than 1/3 of even the cheapest online coaching). Background of myself: B4 consulting -> Tier 2 Strategy -> MBB PE practice in the last 4 years. Interviewed with almost all major consulting firms in school and when lateraling.
Big4 consultant. Most of my former colleagues have left for smaller consulting firms or exited to industry roles. Several have wound up referring each other and essentially re-clustered together in bunches of 3-4 at other firms. Not one of them has referred me or invited me to interview to work with them again. Cause for concern? I consider myself easy to get along with, have decent relationships with all of them, but can't help but feel demoralized that nobody wanted to work with me again
Anyone know how stringent Amazon is with basic requirements for YOE? If the role says 2+ years of experience and I’m at 20 months, is it worth applying?
How do exit ops look for someone with an engineering degree and a little over a year of experience as a consultant on emerging tech / IOT projects? Not sure what jobs / companies to look at! Thank you
Anyone have a swimsuit recommendation that they love for post-baby bodies? I’m totally willing to wear a bikini if it’s the right fit but interested in a great one piece too.
Accenture fish - what is a “Modern Change Consultant”? I’ve seen a few job postings for this position. Is it an internal strategy role, or client facing?
I am an immigrant that’s working in Canada for an American company. There are always lots of fun conferences and work trips that I’m eligible for and invited to in the US. But I always need to give up my spot because I never get enough notice to apply for my US visa, they always only let us know a few weeks before. Feeling so left out and frustrated.
Looking to move from D.C. to Tampa to work for another consulting firm and have an interview for a position. Given the lower COL, how should I go about salary negotiations?
Considering a lateral move to Huron's Healthcare Security sector and am rather interested so far based on who I've met and what I've learned. (~150k) What am I missing? Is it a good firm with good people, good engagements, etc.?
I am seeing a lots of openings at Scale AI. Any idea how the company is? Any insights on the culture?
What is the extent of details revealed in a background check? If I left voluntarily vs was let go - does that show up in a background check? Long leave of absence say 6 months (health or parental leave or just personal leave) - does that show up? Which specific teams I worked with or what kind of projects I worked on? Past promotion dates?
A sleepy summer Sunday watching the end of a great test cricket match, grabbing a beer with friends and glorious weather. Honestly it is the first day since covid that life feels normal for me

History lesson on the streets of NYC
Nervous for my last round of interview with a company I really want to work for! Since the last interview (second round to last round), I felt okay after the interview but ever since they told me they have another candidate who they are comparing me with, I start to question and analyze the interview I already did how I could’ve said this that. 🥲
I forgot to change a kid's diaper. And my para reported me to my principal and my principal was quite upset with me. She said she wanted to give me a heads-up about the incoming evaluation. What should I do? I am working very hard but feel whatever I do is not enough.
Anyone selling 45k-50k united miles? I had a family emergency and have to get back home (not US) asap. Please DM me.
Anyone have first hand experience working at Ryan, LLC? Pay/Culture/Leadership/Diversity etc..
Rate my offer Tech consulting with 10 YoE $210k base $90k salary (guaranteed yr 1 with upside) $50k signing bonus Currently at $179K base, expecting ~25% bonus (~$45k), one time $15k spot bonus and they’d likely throw in retention bonus of $20-25k. Base salary would be $200k beginning July if I stay where I am.
Starting a new job on January 3. Want to leave on good terms in case I want to boomerang down the road. Is it a bad move to put in my 2 weeks on December 17, right before my whole project team disconnects? Or should I at least give them a heads up before I put in 2 weeks? Do I need to tell my practice leaders/PPMDs in advance? I’m a SC fyi. Thanks fam! First time doing this.
I don't have time to make purees at home. I buy from store all the time. I make sure it's organic and natural preservatives. I feel guilty that I don't give my six months old baby home made food ☹️
