For those who’ve taken the Big 4 > M7 MBA path, did you need to differentiate how your experience at B4 was superior to that of your peers? Or is just surviving a few years with an average rating ok?
How do people in industry get promoted so fast? I have friends at fortune 500s who get promoted once a year or even less. Even my younger cousin just graduated last year, and at 8 months got promoted to “customer success manager” whereas in Big 4 I’ll be in my late 20s by manager
Got an offer from another B4. What pieces of comp/benefits are actually negotiable? Base, sign-on? And if they won’t negotiate on those two, what else can be discussed? Thanks in advanced!
Attempting to lateral between Big 4's to switch practice lines. Not sure how to explain why I don't just stay at my current firm and work with the group that does the type of work I'd like to do - truth is I briefly worked with them and loved the work but couldn't stand working with the team members at all. Is a sufficiently explained 'not a cultural fit' adequate here? Will they even care? I also doubt my practice line would approve the transfer since we're understaffed.
If I was going to make a transition to another firm (possibly Tier 2 or Big 4), when would be an appropriate time to do so? I have about 9 months of experience with IBM thus far. Wait 2 years? Less?
What is the scope of legal managed services provided by Big 4? What is the future of this practice? Asking for a friend.
Is it okay to wear polos with logos of prior companies you worked for to work at the Big 4? Does it matter if you're on a client vs at the office?
Decided that I’m leaving audit today. Trying to understand the full range of opportunities in forensics. Will have my CPA and CFE. So far, I understand that there are client-serving firms like FTI and then the B4 will have forensics arms as well. What are some other forensic accounting roles? Pros and cons? Better than audit? Honestly just looking to learn anything.
Are staff augmentation common in Big 4
What’s the starting salary for transaction services analyst in the for big 4? (Chicago area)
I have 6+ years of work experience working as an Ops Manager in a 3pl company doing last mile deliveries. Highest level of education is MS Supply chain management from UMD. I have been thinking about making a career switch and go into consulting. What are my chances of getting calls from MBB? Or big 4? Or are there any other firms who focus mainly on Supply chain and logistics consulting? McKinsey & Company Boston Consulting Group Bain & Company Deloitte EY PwC Kearney
Have 3 years industry experience doing full core system implementations (insurance). Moving to big 4 next month as SA (25 years old). Any tips on what to expect moving from industry to big 4?
Ive worked at big 4 for 3 years now and have never worked more than 40hrs a week. Pay is decent lcol city
Received an offer from a smaller consulting firm helping build out a new practice with the same work I am doing now. It is a $20k pay raise however I do really enjoy who I work with and really have no reason to leave besides money. I’m afraid to switch and not like it and be miserable but it is an offer that’s very hard to say no too and everyone I interviewed with was great and came from other big 4’s. I’m still very early on in my career.. two years out of college. Any thoughts and opinions?
Any one know or work for Friedman LLP? Curious about their green card policy. Any requirement? Easier than big 4?
Is the SM role like a junior partner at B4?
Applying to industry after 2 yrs in a data-heavy strategy consulting role, and running into an odd problem: people are automatically putting me into a "heavy-quant" box and becoming apprehensive of my fit for a business role (strategy, FP&A, etc). 2 Qs: 1. Does this sound plausible, or am I overthinking based on a small sample? 2. How would you highlight your fit/interest in moderately quantitative roles? Consultants generally like my "Context> result> personal contribution" format of bullets
My 401k is split between 3 funds - large cap growth, large company index, and total stock market index. 26 yo. Do I need to diversify or is this okay for now ?
Considering a VP Digital Strategy role in LA. Any thoughts from locals on expected salary band for someone in that role with 20 years experience?
I washed and folded the baby’s laundry, washed the bottles, took out garbage and konmari’ed half of my closet... all while hubby napped after dinner. Now I’m so annoyed I married a lazy man child 😪😤
Any babe willing to chat or refer me to MBB, Big4 for strategy consulting? I'm trying to take off my career but cant do without MBA. Got 2YOE in strategy, 2YOE tech cons. & On-going Tech + Strategy
Series D tech start up for a strategy and operations role in nyc - what is expected compensation/range I should be going for with base, equity, bonus?
I got a 2nd job offer after formally accepting another (both start in 2.5 weeks). Job Offer 2 salary is a few grand more than Offer 1(already acceted) AND pays 100% of health/dental/vision premiums, which will save me another few thousand a year. Both jobs are in a city notorious for it's high cost-of-living (my partners job is moving us from the midwest to SF this summer), so several thousand dollars difference *WILL* be noticeable. Is it too late to use Offer 2 to negotiate Offer 1?
What the top range SM salary in FDD HCOL?
Had a spontaneous spring clean tonight -- it felt great and makes me want to adopt a more minimalist lifestyle.
Hi 🐠 fam! I received a direct deposit for the Covid stimulus check. I’m not a US citizen/resident, and left the US in Aug, 2018. Any advice on how to proceed? I don’t wanna be in trouble w/ the IRS
I just noticed that I have a “touch base” scheduled for 9:15, then a “check in” at 11:00 on the same project. I’ll let you know what the difference is when we circle back.
Curious about client’s salary - what do Sales Team Leads in CPG make? Like at a Kraft or General Mills??
Would you leave as a senior associate to be in a director role at an energy company “chief is staff” reporting to CEO and CFO. Leading investor relations?
Reviewing resumes and I see more and more frequent that people last one year or less at a job and move on to the next. Is that the new norm? I’m a millennial but my last job I was with for over 4 years. Can I ask in the interview why they’ve moved around so much? Or find a nicer way of asking that. I’m definitely looking for longevity not a hopper.
Does anyone know what’s the remuneration package like for SC at Deloitte SEA located in SG? And whether there’s band within each level ie SC1, SC2, etc? Is it possible to get promote after 1 year?
Next week I’m having my first lateral interview as a junior associate. I’m very nervous because the group with whom I’m interviewing works with life science/tech clients and the attorneys have strong science/tech backgrounds; and I do not. However, I am very, very interested in transitioning to this practice. And I reaaally want this job because it’s at my dream firm. How would you recommend preparing for the lateral interview?
Anyone at SFO right now?
Feeling cash strapped - Just bought a home and feeling cash strapped. Thinking about stopping 401k contributions for a year or so to get more cash. My firm matches 25% up to 6% of my contribution, so I will also lose this. Thoughts???
