Left public accounting as an Audit Manager to take a Controller position in private. Realizing I don’t want to get stuck in a Controller position LT and would like to possibly be in FP&A if I stayed in private. Have always had an interest in FDD and I am considering leaving private for FDD. Any thoughts on this potential move & if it would improve my chances of getting into FP&A later on?

Currently 1-1.5 years out of college, working at a T2 firm doing commercial due diligence work. Have gotten some offers but confused about which one to take:

1. OW PE team, joining in a position higher than at my current firm, basically skipping a year. OWs PE practice as far as I know doesn’t have huge market share
2. McKinseys PE practice but coming in a position lower than where I currently am
3. Stay at my current firm which is experiencing high growth

Hi all - trying to price myself. What rough salary level would a big 4 external hire in FDD in the northeast region be in NYC, Boston, and Tysons Corner for an experienced associate/senior associate?

Currently an A1 at a MM FDD firm. Wanting to jump ship to an A1 role at a Big 4 FDD practice. How many months of being a MM FDD associate would you recommend working before making that jump? Also are there any Big 4 FDD practices requiring employees to come into the office and what are your guys hours like on average?

How are the hours in FDD compared to Audit ? As senior, I’m busy all year round in audit juggling between large clients and easily work 60hr+

I’ve seen more roles for in-house diligence at MM/LMM PE funds lately. Anyone thought through the pro/cons of a role like that vs. FDD?

Do firms ever use contractors? At a certain point I’d like to turn into a 1099 employee but don’t know if that’s a route people go down.
