What’s the typical process for hiring/interviewing for a lateral position at an AmLaw 100 firm? Ie, how many rounds of interviews, timing between each interview, etc. Do firms typically interview X amount of people initially or does it depend on other factors?

I was hired as a lateral (AmLaw 60ish) last year. I had two rounds of interviews with about a week in between, then an offer ~2 wks later (delayed a little due to timing with associate comp reviews). I got the sense they interviewed until they found someone they liked and there wasn’t a set number of candidates they were looking for.

Very helpful, thanks! I interviewed last week and he said next steps is to get me to meet other associates, but I haven’t yet heard back so I wasn’t sure whether it’s a bad sign I haven’t heard back

Time frames vary from firm to firm and even job to job, but I would follow up if it’s been a week since your interview.

Firms are moving slowly since COVID. Normally time frame to hear back used to be 7-10 days depending on how many candidates they interview. I find it's even slower now like 7-14. 2 rounds definitely and sometimes 3 rounds.

Took about a week after the first interview to hear back

How long did it take you to hear back after callbacks?

My anxiety has snowballed in the past month and I’m really struggling. If you think about that feeling of nervousness you feel when you’re about to walk into a job interview.. that’s how I feel all day every day. I’m suddenly nervous/anxious about EVERYTHING, even when I’m not thinking about anything. It’s to the point where last night I couldn’t fall asleep bc my heart wouldn’t stop racing in nervousness but there’s nothing I could/should have been nervous for. Has anyone else experienced this?

But it is saying duplicate profile found(due to PAN no.) as I had already accepted offer few months back from some different email id. And my profile is still there in the system. What should I do?

Hi Everyone,
I hope life is treating you well.
I recently moved to Ottawa from Louisville, Kentucky, and I am looking for an accounting job in Ontario or Quebec. I have work experience in Tax& Finance and an MBA in Accounting. I was wondering if any of you could refer me for an open position in your company ( after we’ve had a chance to talk, of course) or put me in contact with a member of your hiring team.
Please let me know if any of you would be comfortable doing so.

Thanks,

I would highly appreciate tips and suggestions. Thanks

Wanted to know if its the same across Deloitte, PwC and other Consulting firms - the quadrant for good ratings
Even if you deliver exceptionally, that is just 1 of the 4 quadrants in which you'll be judged - and it may not be enough to get a good bonus/hike
You need to prove in the other 3 quadrants as well - like generating revenue, certifications, what you are offering to EY in terms of knowledge sharing or training, etc.
