What’s the word on Geometry Global (NYC office) Any good? Worth making the jump from Publicis Health Agency to there?

Had a friend do the same jump. I also worked there a few years ago. If you're trying to leave pharma then it's a good way to get out but then you run the risk of getting stuck in shopper/retail. When I was there it wasn't great. Was working on a lot of direct mail and banners. They also were losing a lot of clients, laying off a lot of people and were going through a huge identity crisis (they were trying to pivot from a shopper agency to a more integrated one). Overall I'm glad I left but a lot could've changed in the past couple years.

DO NOT DO IT

Could you provide context? Was looking there as well. Hiring was held up.

If you could make the switch from health, even if it’s only to geometry, do it.

In pharma? Or in consumer work? If you’ve worked at top shops before pharma that will help you out, but if your only experience is in pharma (and you’re looking to escape), geometry isn’t a bad option at all.

Toxic culture, homogeneous creative, and...it’s shopper marketing.

Geometry isn’t a good creative agency. But you’ll work on big clients, if you can get into the experiential team that’s a better deal probably. And I’d say that there are a lot of people like you there, who are looking to use the place as a stepping stone. Advocate for good work as an account person, give your creatives what they need to sell in good work to clients who think of you as either a retail or event production partner. You might get a win or two. If nothing else, it’ll get you out of pharma.

So I think the client is a parent company for a chain of super markets - not sure if I’m about that.

Interested in getting others perspective here. Senior consultant but received an offer in healthcare industry for more money and an upgraded title. TC for the offer is about a 25% increase, with the base being higher than my current TC. Currently working on a high profile client and have a decent chance of being promoted to manager next year but will probably go through hell this year to get it and it’s not a sure thing. Should I take the money and run?

The last guy I dated put me on a pedestal. At first I thought it was flattering but now I’m realizing how utterly damaging it was to both out mental health and how it likely came more from a place of insecurity than anything. Word to the other newbies like me. ALWAYS choose PPO over HMO for insurance (if you have the option). The extra cost is so worth it for the quality of your healthcare and your stress levels.

Hi All, single female with endometriosis here. The last few months have been really trying for me, for many obvious reasons and some personal. Is it common for insurance companies to disallow legal research or cap the hours you can spend doing legal research? Do you think that capping the hours for research can breed bad attorneys or even worse lead to malpractice claims? Wouldn’t the insurance company have some liability if that happened?

Life insurance: do I need it? Not married (live with LT boyfriend - renting), own 2 investment properties, no kids, early 30s, in Canada. No “dependents”, and my family could pay for final expenses. I’m healthy and insurance is cheap. Should I just get it? Any extra $ if I pass suddenly could go to younger sibling/ family / charity, or to pay off mortgages. What am I missing?

We have a fixed PTO time plan (very generous) but leftover rates by now are enormous. It’s gonna be about 160 hours of unused PTO per employee in the end of the year, and we only rollover 80. We thought about rolling over everything, but then accruals get too high. Does anyone have creative ideas how we can roll over excessive hours and don’t make them wages at the same time...

I’ve done really well in my 2 years with my current big 4 firm and am coming up for promotion in July. I am sitting on an offer with a step up in title and 40% pay increase. They say grass is not greener on the other side (hello unlimited PTO and all the other terrible comments I’ve read for new firm. Guess who 😂😅) but it’s hard to justify not moving. Am I making a huge mistake leaving behind my 2 year hard work going to the unknown or should I just go for it and take the pay and title!? Help.
