Top 3 law school, admitted since 2014. Went into public interest law but want to move to the private sector for higher pay. Is big law possible? What are good options?

How long is too long? I interviewed with a mid size firm in mid September, and haven't heard the results yet. Got a courtsey email for first two weeks stating they will come back by next week. But now they're completely silent. I've the partners number, but have been refraining from making a phone call. Is it alright for me to give him a call or send a text. Or should I just move on.
