Good Q. For our 1-3 year people, it’s a 1 hour 2 staff interview. Everything above that is about 2/2.5 hours with 4-6 practice leads/senior staffers and our GM.
I was recently offered a Zoom interview. The school had 10 interview slots for me to choose from. Three were one day this week and the rest are next week. I chose the first time slot available. Should I have waited until one of the last slots so I was fresher on their mind when choosing a candidate? I am just sitting here stressing out until I here something. Also, do interviewers still appreciate a hand written thank you for the interview?
Does anyone in this group have experience doing ESG/Sustainability case interviews for consulting firms? Please share examples and tips if so!
I am very pregnant, due October 19th. I also have been applying at other firms because I am desperate to relocate and get out of my practice area. I never get bites, so my motto has just been, well, might as well apply, regardless of pregnancy. But I just got an interview invite to one of my top pick firms! Any advice on how to handle it? It will be a zoom interview, so I can hide the pregnancy, but I'm not even sure if that's the best route. Help me figure out my life, please! 😁
Sorry to ask it here. But could not find any relevant Bowl.

We are short staffed have been for over 6 months, those of us that are left are trying to keep up but we are struggling hard-core. We have had tons of interviews but everyone offered a position (which has been all of them) always says,'oh I have other interviews'. We can't be the only ones dealing with this.
Will a cover letter significantly help my application while applying to MBB? Or significantly hurt if I don’t attach one? There’s nothing unusual about my resume to explain (i.e. employment gaps, reapplication, etc) so my CL would primarily be explaining why I want to work for the firm.
Has anyone gotten a paid take home design assignment for the interview process? If so, how much were you paid? Is there an industry standard?

One from a VERY good consulting firm, the other from a corporate company (pharmaceutical industry). Both in sustainability field, same salary. One 200km from home with possibility to work remotely most of the time (consulting), the other literally 850 meters from my house right now. The corporate company offers 6 months at first with the possibility to get a permanent contract afterwards. The consulting firm proposes a permanent contract. What should I do?

Does anybody know why the APG is charging $20 for a virtual event about a salary survey that respondents provided for free? I get it takes time (it’s been at least 12 months since they asked people to fill it out) for them to put together the findings but it seems a bit much for what it is considering the times we’re in and how many planners are not employed at the moment.

How do you get students to extend their writing voluntarily, without setting a minimum number of sentences/pages? It’s frustrating to say, “Write a paragraph about xyz,” and the first thing kids say is, “How many sentences?” If you say, “Seven,” then they become period counters, and that’s where they stop even if it’s in the middle of a thought. My goal is to give the assignment and they complete it fully without counting periods/pages.

Any current or former Google PMs here that can provide advice? I have a final round with Google and my recruiter is only considering me for YouTube roles as they are from that org. I have a lot of cloud and SaaS experience and would be a better fit for G.Cloud. I've been trying to get my recruiter to consider me for the cloud vertical as well and they are refusing to do that. Someone has ordered to help get my application moved to the Cloud track but they asked me to think about this first

What is your company's policy regarding jury duty? Is it paid or unpaid? Do they require you to use PTO for it? I work for a small government contractor (under 100 people) and they do not pay for those hours. My last company (under 20 people) paid for that time. I'm a bit conflicted. If you're called for duty I think it's your civic responsibility to serve and should not be shirked but I'm surprised by my company's policy. Appreciate any sharing of other jury duty experiences. Thanks!
