What’s worse….chasing associates to do work, chasing clients to send [useful] info, or chasing partners to approve returns.

Just a rant but had an associate tell me they had to sit at the laundromat for 2hrs because they didn't have time this weekend to do laundry. Like wtf this is how you lose WFH for everybody

Did they not use their phone as a hotspot and spend the waiting time working? Because it would be reasonable if they did that…

funny

Clients. Because some of them just send you things before you ask while others it’s like pulling teeth.

like

Associates. Because they always say they’re on top of it and then send you shit product at the last minute. Yes, it’s a work in progress to send earlier either more review points and coaches have been involved as necessary. Clients and partners are also always tough, but I view it is something out of my control where I’m responsible for the product that gets to them.

Clients!!!

All of them.

oh, life is full of chasing….

Clients 100%

Associates. They are really on my nerves lately if I’m being honest

Chasing your dreams of a meaningful career, only to realize ... well, you know.

Want to improve my verbal and written communication skills. I hear reading more would help but I don’t read as much as I used to. So I’m wondering what books would help with that? Should I just read books that tickle my fancy like suspense and true crime novels? Help! Welcome to all book recommendations.

I’m an industry senior, manager is retiring in 2 months & new tax director is joining this week. Have been at company for 15 months. Considering talking to HR & new director for a plan to grow my career at this company; company is growing & likely we will need 2 more ppl at associate/senior levels (we have 1 associate). What is a realistic time frame to set for promotion to manager & what goals should I be setting? Company is tiered partnership, acquiring new businesses & operates multi-state.

Had a disagreement with someone today, still feel confident, but curious what people think. Simple -all equity partners/no profits interest, would you
A) allocate state income/losses/diff effective pro rata to the partner's share of federal income/loss - by the time the project closes to $0, all federal /state differences end up closed to $0, no state diff remains for each partner
B) maintain separate state capital accounts for purposes of determining target allocation of the state income/loss
