$BBW is the move for tomorrow
It's always been a dream of mine to work at Google, specifically as a UX designer (currently transitioning into UX from visual design). I've been so afraid to apply to any jobs with UX title, Google or not, because I'm always doubting myself and telling myself I'm still under-qualified.
UX designers & hiring managers, what are the skills a designer must have to be "qualified" for a UX position? Keywords on resume? Certifications? Thank you all in advance!

I got up to $5K, must be IRS allowable deductions. My move was only 100 miles. $5K is pretty standard, but I've seen up to $10K for cross-country moves for someone who already worked for the company, not a new hire.
I worked at an agency where the relocation package was in the new hires contract: if he left before 1-year, he had to pay it back. Obviously, he stayed for at least 1-year.
Also, I've noticed packages are only offered for senior positions. I've yet to see an agency offer one to a mid-level and have never seen a junior receive one.
Seen ones chunked into specific items, not a lump sum (this was for an international move). For example, $4K in packaging and shipping your stuff, flight to new location, 1-2 months corporate housing upon arrival. No "relocation bonus" though. Depending on your situation, might be able to negotiate flights back to visit family, greater period of corp. housing (def recommended if the location you're moving to has a tough housing market), furniture allowance if you can't ship all your stuff and the new place is unfinished, etc. Consider also your spouse, if you have one, and if company will subsidize their lost pay while they find a job... agree with others though, depends on if you are doing a voluntary company move to a place you really want to be, or moving to a team that desperately needs you (gives you more leverage), or a totally new job.
I got up to 13k from LA to NY
Mine was pretty meager for a cross country transfer - only 4k plus a flight. Nothing else. I would definitely not recommend accepting such a package that doesn't even cover moving expenses.
I got 5K check from Leo without asking. A smaller shop in Dallas would only reimburse up to 2K and that was only after I asked for more money on the offer. Acted like they were doing me a favor with 2K. Obviously I turned them down.
Whaaaa just got offered 7K from LA to NY
$6k to cover choice of expenses
I got 7k to go from Miami to Dallas.
5k check to go from FL to CHI
Not me, but a friend received $9K within the same state from a big company. Didn’t have to pay it back or anything, either.
I got 5k for 600 miles
I got 9k for 1.5k miles as new hire. If I'd left after a year would've had to pay it back.
5k CHI to MN. Barely covered shit, and that's only 300 miles. Drove my own moving van.
I've gotten 5k for SF to LA. But planning to move as a new hire to NY from LA and hoping for 10k min. I even asked a little lower in salary to compensate for a relo. So hoping it works out. I've gotten relo as a mid level and now I'm an Sr, for those that are curious. But all good info everyone, thanks so much!!! ✌️
I've always been given $5K for cross country moves. It's built into your package.
