After the merger, will stays at both Marriott and SPG count towards platinum premier elite (aka SPG ambassador)? Or do you have to stay 100 nights before the merger to not have the minimum spend req.?
I have an old chase freedom card which I guess doesn’t exist anymore. Should I change to the freedom flex? Currently put travel/dining on CSR, use Freedom for the quarterly 5% categories, and put flights and everything else on Amex. I don’t think it makes a difference if I’m only using it for the 5% right?
Have anyone taken Growth school design workshops? Are they even relevant?
I know they might be teaching all proper UX but in reality companies doesn't follow.
There is no scope for doing research. And it is only a handful of product company that has a design team, rest places doesn't even understand what actual Design is. But being in this field, not everyone will get a chance to work with top design driven companies
What's your view?
In IBM Chennai, they are asking me to work from office thrice a week.Does everyone following that?how is the office atmosphere and culture?

I’ve been in NY biglaw for almost 3 years now. Was given the opportunity to go to a satellite office to help build the practice. I have the option to return in 2 or 3 years if I don’t love it. Would you take it? The pay is a bit more.

On men’s dress shoes: Being in the internal services side, a $500+ shoe sounds crazy, but all of my “value” shoes are disintegrating. Do the expensive ones last long enough to make them “worth it”?
How do people make friends in Boston? I haven’t made friends here since college... not sure if I should be trying to expand my network.
I had a crush on a girl. It's been almost 2 years since I confessed my feelings to her and today she told me that she likes me too.
The only issue is she's a Muslim and I'm a Hindu. She believes we don't have a future and that's why she took a long time to confess. She is confused on what to do and even I am confused because things will actually be difficult for obvious reasons.
Please advice on what we should do now.
Should we part ways or should we fight for it?

If you're a CPA, do you need to register with the state for small practice doing non-attest work such as bookkeeping and maybe cost segregation studies?
Received an email about doing a HireVue with Deloitte for an M&A internship position. Any advice or tips on how to prepare/questions that will be asked? Any help is appreciated!
Our firm is establishing our target billable %'s at a small public accounting firm. Is there a website that gives target billable time % by staff level for the tax and accounting industry? Just started poking around the AICPA website, but would appreciate being able to save some time looking for it. I'm used to a lower % rate than what's being proposed (70% vs 85%) and don't want to cause undue pressure on staff, but do want to give a reasonable billable hours expectation going forward.
I'm an Enrolled Agent and I've been working for TurboTax preparing individual tax returns, researching tax law, and giving tax advice. I'm looking to get into some resolution work- how can I get experience to break into resolution work?

Anybody else feel like they were a good staff, okay senior, but a bad manager? Seems like I get worse at my job the longer I stay here...

I’m around 55-60 every week (80+ actual) but I don’t know if I can keep this up past 4/15
Does anyone have goals of investing their earnings to buy real estate? From doing tax work you see the potential in building a real estate portfolio, but lately I’ve been having doubts about it even being worth doing if you don’t have the real estate professional status with the IRS. Do you all think it is worth it, or would you rather put your money in the market/401k/IRA? And yes I understand the market is bad right now, I’m talking in general when the market is normal.
Thoughts on Angelo Gordon’s real estate team?
Anyone have any tips for motivation? I recently switched firms and it feels like busy season never ended. I am always putting out fires because the manager doesn’t tell me about projects/issues until the day of the internal deadline. I like PA but I don’t want to work busy season hours year round
I’m a lawyer in B4 tax with 2 yoe about to make senior in June. Would it be foolish to throw all that away to switch into an entirely different practice area of law (not tax)? Would it be better to wait until senior to make that switch?

Given all the recent buzz about expected large raises around the big 4, I’d like to level set on the average salary for a 4th/5th year female senior manager in federal tax ( credits & methods group) in the Midwest - Chicago/Minneapolis/Detroit market. Anyone willing to share a range if they work in a similar area of tax / similar level? I recognize all groups vary greatly in salary expectations, so looking for input specific to my area. Current expectations set at 140-160k. Reasonable?
Has anyone done an international rotation? — where you work in one of the int’l EY offices for some amount of time. Im wondering what that would entail, if it’s worth it financially and from a tax perspective. Any helpful thoughts/comments are much appreciated. Thanks!
Do you have someone in your office/group that you just loathe? They’ve only been on good projects with strong project teams since they’ve started. I’ve gone to them for help in the past via a partners suggestion but came to find out they’ve had their hand held the whole time. How do you get past feeling jealous and annoyed because you work your ass off and are supposedly a top performer but still get put on shit projects with no help? Is it really just time to walk? Been here for 4 years.
Do I have to pay quarterly estimated payments based on a large capital gain (500k)? I made sure that my 2021 withholdings were 100%+ my 2020 taxes.
