@M2, use your project WBS, could also use a practice WBS, but that is occasionally frowned upon. For meals, if cost of meal exceeds per diem...charge actual. If it’s a project outing (ie, more than one person) charge the WBS (just make sure to not claim per diem or finance gets pissy). Generally when I take the team out I charge it as a non meal outing so the travelers can still get per diem...technically out of policy but as long as my financials are strong no one cares.

like

Per diem based on city for the meals. If I'm taking clients out then i expense it. No limits if it's reasonable and justifiable. Cell phone was moved to corporate plan day one and I've never seen a bill for it. I use a lot of data. When I go intl they switch me to a global plan (even for personal travel) and they cover the first $200 in overages every month. Beyond $200 I need a bill code (project) or I can have it taken from a paycheck. Verizon travel pass is $10/day to use your phone like you're in the US. I went out of the country for the hell of it recently (cheap airfare, needed PQM) for a week. The $70 cost was covered since it counts under the 200

It's technically against policy. A lot of people have been doing that but I've stopped since seeing on fishbowl that people are getting audited for it and having to pay it back. Which is ridiculous

I’m the one whose ex won’t pay for college - and I have an update. My ex texted me today that he and his wife are buying our son a car (!!) for Christmas. On the one hand, it’s one less expense for me. On the other hand, my ex won’t pay for college and he owes me at least $10K for previous medical expenses, but he can find money for a car - which is a “fun” expense that will get him brownie points with our son. Whatever - my son benefits, but talk about a “Disneyland Dad.” Ugh.
