I’m looking for assistance on building your own portfolio in my traditional 401K. I’ve been reading that it’s important to choose funds with low expense ratios. Also, that it is recommended to have at least one US stock, international stock , and bond. I am 24yo so ideally, I’d want to allocate 90%-100% to stocks and 0%-10% to the bond. Any other things I should be looking at?
I wanted to know if in Google India offices, do people get to work on projects like Machine learning/ Deep learning in Healthcare? Like for example Dr. Lily Peng is working as a Product manager for Diabetic Retinopathy diagnosis with ML.
If anyone from Google can throw some light on this, that would be really helpful.
A 401k’s individual contribution limit (at least for elective deferrals) is $19k.
401+19 = 420. Coincidence? I think not. 🍁 💨 🔥

Mommas that work at Guidehouse - I’m transitioning to Guidehouse from Grant Thornton and I’m quite confused with the maternity leave. How many weeks of full pay maternity leave does Guidehouse offer? Also how many weeks do you get in short term disability and is it paid 60% or more?
Has anyone transitioned from bedside/patient facing healthcare to clinical research? I am looking at making the switch and would appreciate any insight!
Moved to the Indy area with a remote job 1.5 years ago and have loved it. Wife and I plan to stay for the long term with a growing family. I’d like to change jobs to something local. I’m currently in healthcare consulting and looking at pharmaceutical companies in the area. Anyone work for Eli Lilly, Roche, etc. that would be willing to connect or answer some questions?

I'm struggling with drafting/creating policies. Is that something that's taught through a certification or I missed in school? How does one get good/comfortable with writing policies or is there a tip I'm overlooking? (e.g. I need to formalize our Maternity leave policy and create a paternal leave alongside)
At what income level do you personally think it makes sense to switch from putting money into Roth retirement accounts to traditional? I get that would be when you believe you are at a higher tax rate than when you retire, but how do you determine that with uncertainties around actual retirement income and changes in the tax code over decades?

Any change management practitioners wishing to connect in Houston? I’m trying to pivot into change mgmt and learn from experienced consultants but they are hard to find in Houston!
What’s the best position that mixes business and data science together? I like the technical aspect of DS (coding, algos, models..etc) but I don’t see myself being super technical. At the same time, I love to connect data to business and be on the strategic side of things however I don’t want to only be doing. What position would be best for someone who basically wants 50% DS & 50% Business?
Can anyone think of a reason to NOT negotiate salary, if you already want the job and the salary seems sufficient. Many people say “ALWAYS negotiate” but there have to be downsides, right?
Switching Advice Needed!🙏🏾
My question is how many years should an individual atleast stay before switching to another company and continue the process without being judged/tagged as a job- hopper in the industry?
Pls give ur opinions.

Fellow 🐟 designers/developers - what's your take on direct involvement with / leading customer comms in projects?
- Do you like having that opportunity to engage with the customer?
- Does it complicate/skew your responsibilities?
- Does it help give context to what you're working on?
- Do you see the value in it, which in return motivates you?
I'm working remotely at an Associate level making 135k; relationship driven indirect sales position. 5 YOE in sales. Have I reached saturation considering, I don't want to go back to sales position and no one would really pay considerably higher? I hope I'm assuming incorrectly?
After months of unemployment I finally found a job and the job description says senior ad. But I'm noticing that no one else at the company has any senior titles in their LinkedIn and stuff. Should I just put ad on there or should I go ahead and say senior ad?

Is it normal to feel more anxious when you first start taking Zoloft? I’ve been taking it at bedtime and when I wake up I am super anxious. Then at around noon, it calms down and I feel in a better mood. On 50mg.

Interviewed for a firm that seems great and pays better than my current job, but one issue... they don’t offer 401k matching (my current firm does). All other benefits are the same though. I’m seriously considering leaving my current job for this new opportunity since it sounds like a great fit for me, I just don’t know how to handle the lack of 401k matching. I just qualified for my 401k at my current place but haven’t contributed yet and I need to get my savings in order. Advice?

Went to a club yesterday and we paid $20 pp for cover just to find out that it was empty and there wasn't really a clubbing vibe. Bought a round of beers and we were so bored that we decided to leave in a few minutes... I feel robbed but at the same time I guess there's not much I can do, or is it? Im not sure if a CC charge back even applies in this case. Anyone had the same experience?
What percentage of your gross salary do you save each month? Let’s include personal 401k / pension contributions - but exclude any given by your employer.
Pay off the car early or fund more in 401k?
New job, no prior 401k balance but late career starter at 30 so anxious about retirement. If payoff car loan, I will only be able to contribute 5k to retirement this year (no match 1st year). Car loan is 5.99% and matures 2023. I would divert what would be retirement contributions to paying off the car by Dec this year. This would free up a $540 monthly bill starting Jan 2021. What’s better, higher retirement contributions now, or pay off car now?
