Which firm has a strong people analytics team?
The data is pretty clear companies doing hybrid and with people back in 2-3 days a week have 50%+ lower turnover and higher employee engagement, productivity and innovation.
The sentiment analysis says people don’t want to be in the quant data says the opposite
BLS.gov as a starting point
We work remote but we’re a recruitment agency. When dealing with multiple clients and understanding the need around hybrid and in person it really depends on the nature of the business
For example we have a client in retail who only wants people coming into office and it really does go into the culture of the business
I think sustaining culture is a flexible word used these days and it’s sad because those that mean it get undermined
I do think it’s all going to conclude to hybrid at some point to balance everyone’s needs
I didn’t understand the last part there are existing leases some actually need that also to register as an official business by the way we have one too just for regulations etc
What was your point with micromanaging? As in business wants you to come in office to micromanage you?
Yes, it seems perception for people is that leadership teams are trying to micromanage the team, or that they are paying for expensive rent/leases and to make use of the office space. I wonder how pervasive this perception is, and if OD/HR teams are aware, what are they doing to support leadership in having more powerful/convincing reasons for in-person work
We’re permanently a hybrid workplace. Each org has flexibility on often their teams come to the office. Some do once a week, some do once a month. Unless you’re in a role that requires you to be office (i.e. some networking teams). We only get involved when employees near office locations request permanently home-based. These requests are reviewed on a case by case basis.
the flexibility your company provides is awesome!
At my old company (a massive bank you've heard of) It was, 3 days a week mandatory from the top. For our team it was come into collaborate, at least 2-3 times a week, work at home to focus. With mixed results on the success of that sentiment. Some folks get very resistant to the word "mandatory"
My current workplace? We're all adults, come in when it makes sense. We do arrange to come in at the same time, though. And it's GREATLY successful. Some weeks we'll be in 1 days, others 4. Depends on our work modes. It's the second place I've worked where that was the philosophy and getting people into the office has no drama. We do try to have social things on the days we're in - either team lunch or after work activity.
