Process at tiny agencies

Anyone have experience working at a creative shop with no account team? My agency does design, brand and websites so it’s just designers, two devs & a writer (me). I come from a slightly larger, more conventional agency so the lack of structure here confounds me.

For example: we don’t do creative briefs at all. Been here for 1.5 years and things are coming to a head for me. Frustrated with our unclear processes, and I’m not making good work. Do I just need to reframe?
