What's your favorite BBQ / rib place in Boston? We've had amazing takeout from The Smoke Shop in the Seaport during Covid lockdown. The ribs are pure heaven and the chicken wings are also amazing. The only complaint is that they no longer have collard greens and they charge you for extra bbq sauce, which seems pretty chintzy when you're dropping $50-70 on food.

I just had a doc appointment and as I was walking up, I noticed 4 staff members with their masks completely pulled down below their chins until they saw me approaching. There are millions of people dying of wars (like Afghan), famine (like Yemen) and also Covid. Why should I be okay with my company donating and speaking on my behave with so much focus on BLM? I agree it matters, but overall, we live a good life in the United States comparing to the rest of the word, regardless of race. The attention to race equality is important but I feel bad for the poor forgotten souls that are facing other issues on earth. They matter too?

I'm shocked by how many smart people on here emphasize the wrong things in preventing the spread of COVID. It doesn't matter if a place looks clean and feels safe. Clorox wipes and gloves do not help much. The issue is how much time you spend close to other people, especially indoors, whether or not you are wearing masks (and, if so, N95 or surgical) and the air exchange rate. It isn't "safe" to eat indoors at a restaurant because it looks clean and the staff bleach the tables.

Worst case, but still possible: Covid continues to spread for years despite any vaccine (the rest of our lives). Unemployment skyrockets and the US becomes a developing country with squalid conditions for the low-income. We lose social order and all need to hire private security guards to protect our homes from theft and violence. This also means no more vacations or fun events because the risk of something bad happening is too high. What are your thoughts on this?

Just read an article about how the first doses of the vaccine will be doled out. Am I the only one who is really heartened by the global response to COVID-19? Sure, the US and other countries led by conservative despots bungled it, but, on the whole humanity came together, wore masks, hunkered down, made a vaccine in record time. These actions were largely motivated by fear but also compassion for vulnerable people. I mean, we did it y’all!
