High net worth estate planning, I live vicariously through my clients. I once said “$10 million isn’t a lot” and my co-worker kindly reminded me that I’ll likely never make that much in my lifetime

Any case where the law or facts are a slam dunk for my side. Then I get to write fun motions that don’t make me want to tear my hair out!

Probably a controversial answer but before going in house, I really enjoyed GL litigation. A lot of shit talking, different personalities and hardcore negotiations. Mostly fun depos, sometimes very contentious. I had a great time

Sex law. Onlyfans should be allowed to operate as usual. It’s civil rights. Am I right?

Estate planning - I get to work with and help families, but also am in a firm where the partners have super high net worth clients. I get to help with these crazy complex estates (and the drama that inevitably follows), but get to keep my stress level down since I’m not the partner. (I realize this will hopefully change someday, but it’s a nice benefit in the meantime.) 👍

The OP’s question is odd. Most of us do only one kind that we fall into very early (for big law folks). I did two (well 3): corporate bankruptcy and real estate (which also encompasses private equity, for me these days). It seems as if the original post is meant either for the true generalist or a summer associate rotating through different practice groups.

Whoever said employers don’t care about grades and transcripts after your first job was a liar. Every lateral position that I’ve applied to as a 3rd year has requested transcripts. Why do we lie and tell grads that employers don’t check transcripts when they do. My coworker, a 5th yr, had to submit his transcripts also to lateral job. Side note - it speaks volume when multiple associates are trying to lateral at the same time

The value of damages has increased over time and now defendant claims that plaintiff failed to mitigate because they did not accept the offer. TY
